I'm in a stand-alone regional role when all other BP's are together the other side of the world aligned vertically. The business is set up to support vertical streams, so all HR output (data, analytics etc.) is not by regional level, only by vertical. As the majority of the business is within a similar time zone and all activity is conducted via verticals, I'm left with little influence or ownership, but full accountability for the region. Any advice on how to improve the situation?

Do you recommend following up a couple weeks after a first round interview when you haven’t heard anything? A partner at another firm recently told me to keep following up with Firm B to keep things moving if I’m really interested. I don’t have any great contacts at Firm A to follow up with or a good reason (pending offer/interviews), though I suspect I’ll have interviews scheduled at other firms soon so I can mention them. That said, I don’t want to be a pest and risk annoying a busy partner.
