Anyone hear if their firm is going to adjust for inflation? 5% is real, so anything less than a 5 % raise will be less pay.
The kind of promotion we wish for!
I was caught off guard at my compensation meeting by getting a raise to $100k but also getting a promotion. The raise was decent and it was the minimum I was expecting, but since I got promoted as well I thought the amount should have been higher. We offered a potential candidate $100k for my previous title. For future reference, how can I bring that up without sounding ungrateful and unappreciative? Thoughts?
After getting promoted in Feb 2020 (lol fml) I designed and implemented a significant piece of data infrastructure that is beyond what’s expected of someone at my level. In 2021, I was not recognized for this accomplishment and a guy who knows nothing about the technology was promoted over me. It’s been a year since his promotion & the wheels are starting to come off: others are becoming increasingly aware of his ineptitude. What’s the best way to subtly pour gasoline on this fire?
Salary expectations. I was rated a 3, I will be going from senior 1 to 2. I make 80K, JD and LLM. I am in the Midwest, not Chicago. What is a not slap in the face raise?
I do like the work..but I know I’ll be paid atleast 35K more if I leave..and not sure if the next promotion will happen sooner than 3 years..leave or stay? Don’t have much partner or leadership support but not in a bad book as well
How much of a promotion can I expect A to SA?
Any skip promotion from Senior 2 to Manager who can explain why our compensation will be lower than fellow managers (going from S3 to M1)?
I currently work at a big start up and made a lateral move to another team a few months ago with five years experience. Since then , I’ve created a whole new service line and took over many of my managers duties. As I took a paycut to join this team - I’m pushing for a raise and title change. Is this reasonable?
I have $4K in cash that I got from family as a gift while traveling home country. I want to deposit this into my US bank. Would it raise red flag for IRS/bank if I deposit 4k in one sitting or through ATM? Do I need to fill out anything from tax perspective Fyi- another family member wired $6K into my account two weeks ago (2021 Dec), if it matters
What would you do ? 26 years old, work 9 to 9, work weekends, take an extra load because you can to get to the next promotion. Or work normal hours, workout, enjoy time with family, advance normally.
I am so excited for my 2% annual raise!
Currently on parental leave. As a father I’m so dang thankful my firm has it and I can’t imagine how my immigrant parents manage to raise two kids without leave.
Debating if I should go for a promotion that a bunch of people are saying I should go for. Just wondering if it’s a weird time to do it since the higher paid you are, the bigger the target you tend...
Promotion decisions are not a meritocracy. Women and minorities at my firm are consistently passed over for white men. Decisions seemed based on how much partners like you more than anything else.
What has been a typical annual raise pre-pandemic for tech consulting seniors at EY? 10-12%?
Hi friends, I have an offer from TCS giving 30 percent raise. Can anyone provide some insights on TCS culture? Will it be considered a bad move to from EY to TCS and look bad on CV. Some of my colleagues suggesting that not good idea to go from BIG 4 to WITCH. Thoughts please.
I was offered a large raise/promotion at my current company (Series A Funded, been here since seed round). I have the option to do stock or cash or a combo. Anyone have an idea on what to do for something like this? We have good funding and are considered a first mover in our vertical. It's SaaS but we are having issues figuring out our business model and product. We have a lot of F100 customers though. any suggestions?
How do internal transfers impact promotions? E.g. of you are in a promotion year to manager, how farther back will your promotion be pushed?
Non Big 4 People: Are you expected to devote X number of hours per week in addition to client work for internal "firm initiatives"?
What salary should one expect for IT audit Senior1 (4 years of Exp) in Big 4(both global and India practice)??
A senior leader at my company has his company picture as one of him with his son. I’m curious… do you think moms who might use a similar photo would be judged more negatively (ie perceived to be more family oriented / less invested in her work) or do you think this perception is impacted by seniority (a senior leader posting something like this —> positive impression vs a more junior person —> negative impression regardless of gender)… or both? Or is this just not a thing at all?
Are there PhDs here who transitioned to consulting at MBB, EY-P, Altman Solon etc. I am a PhD candidate ( Earth Sciences) at UIUC and have begun seriously considering a career in consulting. I am looking for advice and/or mentorship on: 1. Crafting a consulting resume and cover letter 2. Networking as an advanced degree, how important it is? While I am in touch with some consultants from my academic background, I haven’t looked at the relationship as a potential referral as of yet.

Hi , 1.Does Accenture pays the variable pay 100 percent ? How is it paid (half Yearly/quarterly/yearly)? 2. Does the joining bonus is paid in full in the first month of joining itself ?
Ever since I started working in tax, it's just not been possible to rest. I've taken time off, but my mind has constantly been worried about work and been feeling anxious. I've been feeling drained and just totally fed up. I'm seeing work pile up, but I have little to no motivation to keep doing it. How do people disconnect when they take PTO? What's the point of resting, if you're gonna be immediately tired after coming back. I feel this damages morale so much in the long run.
I’m a data engineer/engineering manager by trade and massively screwed up by going into MBB consulting, I absolutely despise it and am looking to leave about 8 months in. I have a great offer from a fortune 50 for product management in tech at a similar salary, way more RSU’s but can’t shake off the thought that I wouldn’t be an engineer anymore. Any advice from you guys to help get past my anxiety and just pull the trigger?

What are your thoughts on negotiating a salary for an internal promotion? My boyfriend thinks that I absolutely have to negotiate, but I’m inclined to just accept the first offer... am I doing myself a disservice?
