That’s a great feeling! I’m 31 and just hit base salary over six figures last summer, my parents combine for a little less than half of where I’m at now, so know where you’re coming from! It’s a great feeling being able to provide for your family after growing up in a struggling household!
Congratulations, OP! It’s a big milestone. And I love it that you are helping other people (ie your family) to build career paths, too. You’re doing well and you should be very proud. And I like that your post is “real” and grateful - not some out-of-touch 24 year old saying “I am only making $250k, is this bad?” I also got to 6 figures in my early 30’s and felt like I’d hit the jackpot. You are going to do very well and have a long career in front of you!
Yes! Also went from 75k to 117k this January when I got into consulting at 31. It feel so surreal. If you’re able to stuff away all your raises and bourses to investment you’ll be greatful

Cap1, so the logic is that if some of the tech tickers drop by 30% to 40% their price now is good for an entry point regardless of the fact that they had doubled or tripled in price on the way up? not sure it's a sound advice, especially in this massive rotation from growth to value, but it's your money so you can do anything you want with it.

Yay, congratulations! High five! I also grew up poor in the hood and with immigrant parents so I understand how huge this is. Very happy for you! I’m almost 40 and not quite at 90k yet but I still feel pretty accomplished considering where I came from. Big congrats again!

1 of 5 kids with parents who never had a combined income of over 75k (until I was out of the house)… when I hit 6 figures with my most recent promotion, I had never felt prouder to call my parents! I am also in my 30s!
