Hey does anyone know of a charity focused on providing struggling single mums/dads with baby clothes/toys etc. I have some good stuff to donate but I’d rather not donate to a general place - any suggestions appreciated.

Maybe staying at home this long has made me more critical, but I’m struggling to maintain any suspension of disbelief with ads and tv shows. Case in point: the MB ad where the kid snuggles the dirty, grime & bug ridden toy off the front of a truck - seriously!? And don’t get me started on ‘Your Honor’ - WTF, do they not have fingerprinting in the NOPD???!! Case closed.

Is anyone dealing with pressure to travel/attend in person events? I’m pregnant, there is no vaccine for my young children and therefore we are still taking precautions pretty seriously as a result. Seems like “I’m being careful because of Covid” is no longer an accepted excuse

I’m fully fucking losing it. I wake up at 6 with my 3 year old, feed my kids breakfast, work from 7 to 6 while people CONSTANTLY message me (eff you teams and Skype and slack), cook dinner, put the kids to bed and then field the anxieties of my SAH partner who “needs the break” that I never, ever GD get from dawn to bedtime, watch about an hour of TV while reading work emails and then fall asleep to do it all again. I am never alone. I am never not serving the needs of other people. I am not ok.

My wife and I need a break. Had our first baby in March and we are worn out (getting better) but very tired. Wife said to me “I need us time”, and she’s never said that in the 3 years we’ve been married. Suggestions on getaways or things to do?

I never developed boundaries as a child and now it’s messing me up personally and professionally. Where do I begin fixing myself? Any books, podcasts that may help ?

CPA Really??!
Had a great weekend linking up with fam, went wine tasting, fine dining and all. And I love it when my six year old says she wants to be a CPA when she grows up. But do I really want her to go the CPA route? My younger sister’s a doctor, brother in law’s an engineering manager at alphabet, both grossing 600K annual Bay Area combined both dumb as hell when it comes to business/finance. Sorry maybe just hating a little bit here. Am I wrong to suggest my kid to choose tech instead?

For people who have gotten pregnant through Shady Grove Fertility, how long did they monitor you for before transitioning to your OB?

Currently have 12 years banking experience and an MBA. I’ve always been career driven but now I’m ending my 8 month mat leave soon with my 2nd baby. I’m really torn if I should take a few years off to be a SAHM. We can financially handle it, although it may be a little tight. My biggest concern is getting back into the work force in 2/3 years. Will this decision really impact my career? Maybe I can look into part time work but I don’t even know where to begin to look with banking experience.

Moms, did having daycare at your gym help you to go more often? Did the environment help?

Hubby thinks that we can workout at home (peloton, weight bench, online classes, jogging stroller) or in our community gym & pool. But I'm excited to join a local sports club with lots of amenities (classes, squash, tennis, swim) and 2.5 hrs daycare / day.
I'm remote so getting out of the house occasionally would be nice, plus give baby some exposure. Baby will start full time 9-4 daycare soon though.

TTC for ~2 years now. We Saw a obgyn and more recently an RE as well. They conducted all possible tests ( semen analysis , HSG , thyroid , ultrasound, genetic screening etc) and there is nothing wrong. At a loss to understand why we haven’t been able to get pregnant. Anyone experienced something similar ? The RE recommends IUI as next step

I was contacted by a recruiter just before I went on maternity leave. We stayed in touch and now, a month into my leave, I am preparing for a first interview at Google for an interaction designer role. First, any tips on how to prepare for this interview? Second, I feel like if I’m doing all this interview/material prep, I should go all in, apply at other big companies and try for multiple offers. Would I be wasting time since I don’t want to cut my leave (goes to July) short?

SO beyond frustrated with my work environment I think it may be time to leave for good. I returned from maternity leave after 4 years of working at my very old-school, boys club, nepotism-friendly company. The number of remarks I got on my appearance, my pregnancy and etc was a little annoying before I left, but since I've come back it's been nothing but comments on how they can't believe I'm leaving my husband home with the baby etc. Sorry for the long post just needed to vent!!

I don't wear a ton of makeup and do usually eat pretty healthily/ drink water. What other tips, tricks, and treatments should I be considering?!? Etiquette question. Invited last minute to a family party (my in-laws) ostensibly for Father’s Day. Accepted invite. Shortly after, my sis in law advises that they will also be celebrating the HS graduation and birthday of her husbands nephew. Do we bring a cash gift for the young man? How much? We know the young man and like him but don’t typically celebrate holidays or buy gifts for him. He has two brothers who will be graduating in the future and don’t want to be inequitable to them.

Struggling with the position of a relationship in my life.

Spent years on my own, focusing on myself and my career, now that I am in my mid 30s I found a great woman whom I have been with for a year now

The problem is: She bases a lot of her identity in our relationship. For me my relationship is just one more of the many things that are important to me.

I feel like this is starting to create conflict when I dont make her the center of my world.

Not going by the ability of reproduction, how many sexes are there? I feel like for decades, we were educated by the society that there are only two sexes (male/female).
