But aren't Masters degrees pretty useless? I totally agree their delivery could have been wayyy better, but did they lie?
I’m also going to add that if you ever were to switch industries, a masters could come in handy too
While the Masters Diploma itself is nice wall decor, I owe my career to the program at VCU Brandcenter. So fuck you very much DAS.
Preach.

And now these two white folks who started this "Ad school" are social justice warriors, too? Mmmmkay...Look at the pics of all their recent grads. Looks like a hipster debutante ball in Greenwich, CT.

I don’t disagree with the sentiment - Circus was a more affordable way for students to get portfolios without having to shell out an insane amount of money at MAS or VCU. Those places are great, especially VCU, but they contribute massively to the diversity problem in advertising. You gotta be rich-ish to go.
That being said, this tweet from Denver Ad School is 11/10 on the douche-meter, and should never have been sent out.
Circus and Miami ad school cost the same amount tho

Rank amateurs posing as "ad school leaders"....clowns.
“sorry you’re dying :/ lemme make this about me”
but actually...
They aren’t wrong tho
Everyone here is missing the point. This is called brand tonality. They're teaching students to write in a “cringe” tonality and without much strategic foresight. It's a lesson so that one day students will be able to do this at an agency for money.
They already posted some long-ass fake apology on their Twitter. Unreal.
The creative circus news is a bummer. But hopefully it’s a sign that entrance into the ad world is becoming less exclusive.
That fella doesn’t know when to put down the damn shovel.
You don't need to go to portfolio schools. I know a countless number of creatives that did not go to portfolio schools and have good careers. Myself included.
The work coming out of both schools is dreadful to be fair. Circus is actually decent.
Ive worked with a fair amount of circus grads over the last couple years who were really bad too
Check out denver ad school portfolios and you’ll notice they all have the same website format! #Creativity
The student work was appalling. They have a long way to go with their program.

"Masters" degree from DAD. Ha. Better off with Univ. of Phoenix.
I don’t see a problem with this. Degrees are useless in today’s age unless you’re in medical/STEM (I have one). MAS is expensive and what 18 months? I did notice Denver increased their prices, it’s a shame there’s not much out there that is affordable for the average person that isn’t supported by mom/dad. I see some agencies are holding their own intern/school programs. That seems like the future imo
Pls don’t give any of these as schools your money. I almost did and thank the universe everyday I bailed at the last minute.
Hahahaha
Ok gonna need you to elaborate plz.
😯 why? For what?

Hmmm...Jesse or Heather?
Yes
I am not even a little bit surprised
I applied to DAD last fall because I work at a tiny regional shop and wanted to grow my skillset.
Instead of reading my application, looking through my portfolio, or knowing literally anything about me-including the program I applied to-they took my interview call on video chat, 15 minutes late, in a mall shoe department.
The only thing that experience told me was that they don't give a fuck.
