After joining ZS i got a project after a month. That project lasted for 2.5 months and then again I was on bench period for 1.5 months.
Fast forward today, I usually handle 2 project's many a times guiding junior associate or interns on the project. So its normal.
On the utilisation part, this is the best time to up skill yourself as you will never get so much free time again. The primary reason I was on bench during my initial days as I didn't know anything apart from excel. I utilised that time to learn SQL, Python and R.
So please utilise this time well and keep 1:1 biweekly meeting with your manager or consultant from your team to inform them on the updates from your end and constantly reminding them to staff you on any new project or even involve you for any ad hoc work on any current project. You will have to keep pushing for yourself Once you have done 3-4 projects successfully, you will always find yourself staffed on projects. 🙂
Thanks for such a detailed response, I shall take all the advice into consideration.
But as of now there’s no consultant I report to since I’ve not been assigned to a team yet. But anyway thanks again!
Salary and experience?
