Spent 4+ years as CMO of startup company. It was an incredible learning experience but also a very difficult uphill battle trying to steer the owners and the company in the right direction. I’ve just exited the company as of 11/18. The owners expected to storm the marketplace and emerge as a number one brand at only 6 years old without putting in the work.Company had a very hard time understanding the concept of a unique value proposition. Hoping to find a new remote (full time) position ASAP

I would try to get an internal pulse check from people around your level about how they handled it, and not rock the boat yet with a direct ask
I feel you on how agonizing this is. I moved very far from my agency’s base city because, well, life had to move forward. I feel like a full lobe of my brain is devoted to daily worry about losing my job, but I have to sit tight until there’s something to react to so that I can be thoughtful about the ask. Negotiation power comes from not making the first move
Don’t ask. Wait for them to make the first move. If the people you report to aren’t in the office how would they even know? If you have a creative partner who plans to go in, then you’ll have to have the conversation.
I don’t agree with the others. If you don’t ask you don’t get. It’s become apparent to many of us that remote working is more important than almost anything; the time to ask is now. That way you’re one of many voices echoing the same sentiment - let’s make work work for us. Enough of the convention, it’s bullshit, time for real change.

Did you ask about any of this when interviewing? Did they?
