Ugh! I can’t stand office cliques! Annual review 3.5/4 (among the best/promote immediately) is what my evaluation said, yet I’ve been passed over 3 times. 1: I applied and wasn’t given a response that I wouldn’t be interviewed until after the interviews had been completed. 2: I was told, “we want to judge your response to not being interviewed”. Since my response to the first time was asking my co-workers how the companies promotion process worked. 3: not even told of the promotion option. J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc.

Yes because states are in a bidding war to supply hospitals. There was no preparation for this pandemic at all and this is where we are.
I know someone who bought 500 masks last month 😡 it is because of this that we don't have any now.

Korea has a neat rationing system where people can pick up masks at a convenience store depending on their birth date. Prevents hoarding and everybody can at least get some number of masks.

Most face masks are going to hospitals to supply the people who need them the most. Best option for those not in healthcare/essential is to make some ourself

Correct, we have no factories in the US anymore. Everything is outsourced to China where there is lax environmental laws and labor laws. I just watched the “American factory” documentary that won the Oscar and it was eye opening. This is a problem America needs to solve next, how to stop buying cheap shit from China, eroding our own workforce and putting our supply chain in the hands of China.
I have a sewing machine, and I’m making my own. Free patterns are all over the net. The elastic is getting hard to find, but in a pinch you could just make fabric ties.

I use fabric for the ear loops, like those better than tying around your head.
The fabric is cotton stretch so works similar to elastic and is super soft.

It is shocking how hard they are to find

It’s no N95, but OP said they were looking for cloth masks. Cloth masks are more effective at protecting others (from droplets etc.), but they may help the wearer as well. And you can wear it over an N95 to extend its life if you happen to have one.

It’s a supply chain and it’s amazing what we’ve been able to produce when supply was rocketing 2 months ago.
Cloth masks are fine and you can find them on Etsy. I even sell some.
As long as you’re under 50 with no underlying conditions and practice social distancing, clean hygiene, and wearing a mask then you are golden.
There is also the quick version where you can make a mask out of a bandana or any cloth fabric and a couple of rubber bands or hair ties, no sewing required.

OP, Are you surprised the textile industry left the US? This was decades ago. Scores.

Try Kickstarter and Indiegogo for options. I'm well stocked up but got some more just in case
