Accepted a l5 consultant level offer from Google recently. This was 1 level down from the other position I started interviewing for before it went on hold. I do feel a bit down leveled and a compromise on comp as I didn't have competing offers from other fang.
I see another role open, probably at l6 for lead consultant, same location (austin)Austin. Is it OK to go back to recruiter and ask for this role/position? Google

Recently had a satisfying conversation with other professionals on the importance of Social Media Engagement over Social Media Followers. Most of us agreed that engaging current followers is far more important than chasing after new ones.
Many do not realize that a published social post won't organically reach a new audience if your current followers do not interact with it. I speak more on this in my new blog post.
Check it out and let me know if you agree: https://www.milcatmarketing.com/blog-marketing/organic-social-media-growth-for-businesses
Capgemini offered 15 LPA fixed for B2 grade during HR round then on offer letter gave a C1 Grade with 15 LPA Fixed plus Variable. That brought out the fixed to 13.5 LPA. I straightway asked the recruiter to revise as per our discussion and didi not accept the offer letter. HR told she will try and revise. Right way to go? Capgemini Tata Consultancy Accenture

The reason they make you jump through hoops to adopt is to ensure you are serious about the dog and will be dedicated to it for life. Rescue orgs don’t go through all the effort to save a dog to have it end up back in a shelter later in life.
If you really want to help a dog and adopt, be patient. My rescue dog is the best decision I’ve ever made. Not easy, but love of my life.
Is it counterintuitive? I saw an article that due to stricter rules of adopting, many people are buying that may or may not result in higher probability in shelter (in a grand scheme). And those in shelter not adopted are being killed and not giving a second chance. It’s just sad.
This was me over the summer. I was so fed up with rescuing being almost impossible to do because of the pandemic and high demand for dogs that I thought about just giving up and going to a breeder. I applied to literally over 40 dogs throughout the summer and was just so discouraged after repeatedly getting passed over time and time again for families with huge yards/farms (I’m single and live in a city) even though I knew I was a super strong candidate. Then I accidentally hacked the system. I decided to take a break from applying to adopt because the rejection was taking an emotional toll on me and I volunteered to foster. The foster parent almost always has priority to adopt the dog they’re fostering and “foster fail.” I notified the rescue organization 24 hours after I picked up my first foster dog that I wanted to adopt her. The rest is history!
To be clear, the “hoops” I experienced were an application, interview and home check. It’s not hard, it just means you need a little patience. We knew we wanted a dog so we started the process and chose not to meet any pups until we were approved.
Most people go to a breeder because they want a golden doodle or some specific dog or they don’t want the behavioral issues rescues can come with, not because getting a rescue is too difficult. If the process is too hard for someone, owning a rescue probably will be too and that means the process is doing its job.
I agree. If you find it too difficult to adopt, your heart may not be in it. It’s perfectly natural for rescues to prefer to adopt out their dogs (particularly large, active breeds) to homes that have large yards and/or experience with similar dogs. If you live in a studio or have never owned a dog before, maybe the dog you’re interested in is not the right pet for you
They're super picky trying to adopt. I'm like hey I want to adopt and they make me go through all these hopes that I'm just not doing. I went to a breader gave cash and took the dog lol.

I understand asking the landlord if the pet policy isn’t posted or in the lease since they wouldn’t want to adopt out a dog that wouldn’t actually be allowed to live there. A 10-page application is a lot! I can’t imagine what 10 pages of questions would even entail. That does seem excessive to me too. (As comparison, my husband and I considered adopting a human child at one point and I don’t think the adoption form was that long!)
Anyway, I am glad you got a dog and hope it is all going well for you. ❤️

Don’t feel bad. There’s a YouTuber Rachel Fusaro I watch that advocates for adopting dogs. Her mom wanted a dog with calm personality and she had difficulty too finding the right dog through adoption. She had been looking for a while to pre-pandemic. With the pandemic now, there’s been even more applications and the only option was through a breeder.

Get a dog that fits your lifestyle 🙃
Have you tried the local pound? I got my dog literally no questions asked. In my experience personality >> breed. I thought I wanted a lab but fell in love with a feisty medium dog instead.
What are you looking for? I volunteer at a rescue in Texas and there are more puppies than adopters. Always.
Don’t feel bad! I went through the same issue pre-pandemic. I contacted 4 different shelters and two of them told me I’d likely not be approved bc I lived in an apartment and worked FT. Even if I provided contingencies (eg have a dog walker), I’d still be passed over for someone who was more “present”.
I started looking for a puppy from registered breeders (if you’re buying, make sure you know where the pup is coming from as puppy mills and inexperienced breeders are very active right now). I ended up getting the same breed as my childhood dog as I knew their temperaments and tendencies, and I knew they’d fit my lifestyle. Overall, it was the best decision I ever made and my dog has a better life than me LOL
