Partners: what would you think if a first year associate tells you she is pregnant? And what advise would you give about telling my partners? One of my MD’s asked me to update a workbook with new deal info on a sheet they created in September. I did it with the new cap structure they gave, and got a paragraph back telling me it was wrong, and to use a different cap structure. Sent it back, same exact response with a third cap structure. I put these in and am sent a “your book is a mess,” when all of the “errors” they pointed out were errors from the original sheet from them and I got blamed. I just graduated, how do I deal with this?

Do you have small talks with your manager and directs? Feel like an as*hole for not liking it. My boss likes to start our 1 on 1s with topics around family, trip plans, hobbies, and other small talks. I don’t care how his weekend was. Or his baby. And personally I don’t like sharing much about my family or personal life so the small talks thing is very annoying to me. He’s super nice and I like him a lot but I just don’t feel like we should try hard to get to know each other via small talks.
