It’s great to have an HR forum! Curious what “staying connected” strategies are being implemented to stay in touch with furloughed employees?

I think communicating with them regarding their benefits regularly makes sense. That will certainly keep their attention

We are orchestrating weekly brown bags and virtual game sessions. From these, employees have started to find like-minded others to join smaller chat groups organically. It’s neat to see!

Bi-weekly happy hours from home in Friday’s I do one with the HR team and then one with my peers across functions. It’s a nice touch base between eachother

I am a middle school social studies teacher and my husband is a high school art teacher. He has been an art teacher for a very long time and he’s not super proficient with Google classroom but I am. I have been helping him with lesson online resources & creating hyper docs for the lessons. He is struggling with the students not having a lot of supplies at home and how to have them create multiple day art pieces. he teaches at a low income area, how is everyone handling supplies to students?

INTP here with 5+ years in consulting. For my personality type, I should have been in a lab or writing code somewhere with minimal interaction but I am have been out here “managing stakeholders and sucking up to demon partners/clients“. Should I stay or should I go get my masters in computer science/data science so that I would get to do what I am really comfortable with? Will not get to be in a leadership role in future it I think that’s okay..
