It’s Monday and I have zero motivation to work, watching random reels and not working. I start my work and then immediately pick up my phone. What do I do?

Set yourself a deadline. F*ck around on your phone for 45 minutes, then put it across the room and work for 30. Plug your charger in on the other side of your office space and tell yourself you can't use it again until you've worked for one hour. Try romanticizing your morning routine, fill it with things that make you feel good (your favorite drink, time to make a breakfast you love, time to sit on the couch and scroll), and don't start work until you've completed that ritual in the morning. These are all things I try, I still don't feel great on Monday mornings but it helps.

I have an iPhone so I block my social media apps using screen time and only my boyfriend knows the password. It’s extreme, but it works 🥲

HI! Put your phone in the DND mode. I do this whenever I have some work to do. It helps that I don't get notifications.

This is exactly what I have to do in order to get work done. And don't pick up your phone.

I've been using a lock timer on my phone. It helps with the distractions of notifications and endless social media scrolling.

Fresh graduate, 3.84 GPA, B.A. in Economics with two minors. No internship experience, and worked at a cafe for 3 years as a manager. How do you learn what accommodations you personally need?
I don’t know how else to say like I need a project management tool like department wide since Our own projects are lacking effective/efficient project management. work is so disorganized and we are putting bandaids in concrete cracks. They won’t hire more analysts fast enough to shift the workload.
I’m new (started this yr) and its impossible to learn how to do my job/platform and to ACTUALLY do my job within 8 hrs across 3 projects

I’m not diagnosed but I find it so hard to get things done. I get distracted when I’m about to note down what I need to do, then I would forget that I wanted to note down the to-do. Then it takes me forever to get to that to-do and when I finally decide to get to the to-do, I get distracted all the time and potentially forget about it again. Sometimes caffeine can help with deadline approaching but at other times it just makes me hyper but not focused. I found my life stagnant for years. Advice?

Happy Friday. Just a reminder of a few things:

- ADHD is a disability, but it’s not the end of the world
- give yourself a break. Your brain needs it more than you realize
- medication is not a cure-all treatment. Medication + diet + exercise + self-organization is the key.
- ADHD causes us to feel emotions stronger than the average person.
- failure is inevitable, but so is success. Act accordingly, and be kind and fair to yourself
- life is hard, but that’s… wait, what was I saying? 😂😎❤️

How do you redirect hyper-fixation? I’m trying to studying for a certificate. Instead I’ve found myself going down Reddit rabbit holes. 32F, recently diagnosed, currently writing a doctoral dissertation and will be joining consulting in . Had doubts about taking medication. But I first had a 10 mg Adderall yesterday and worked on my dissertation for 17 hours.

I've been dragging writing this dissertation FOREVER (data collected back in 2018). In the past 5 years I’ve been a doctoral student , I have never focused on writing for more than 3 hours a day. I think I can finish this eventually.
