My manager says to serve the full notice period or be labelled absconded. I asked the HR whether I will be labelled as absconded if I agree to buyout the shortfall but they're not replying. Are recruiters worth more than L&D specialists? We have a new recuiter that transferred in from another dept. & is already making more than me and has a higher comp range. We have same tenure & they have NO prev. recuiting experience. I should also add I have been helping cover recuiting in interim. I also help cover HR tasks, have my SHRM, 5 years of HR exp., and 2 degrees. Is the "value" for recruiters more than L&D? I feel a little taken advantage of, but want to know if I'm off base here.

I am an associate at a small firm and was licensed last fall. I clerked at this firm through law school, so I knew most of the partners before starting as an attorney full time, except some of the new ones we have acquired since. I have several cases that I am the only responsible attorney on and quite frankly, feel like I have no clue what I’m doing half the time. For people who have returned to the office, are you feeling more or less productive? Today’s my first day back (going in only twice a week) and it feels like being new again. I also feel less productive since it’s harder to randomly to play music or step out for a walk to recalibrate and focus. Is it just me?
