Is it a vacation if your boss emails every 10 minutes *around the clock*? Stupid me let IT install Outlook on my phone. PEOPLE. If you are in leadership, have the good sense not to email your team ‘round the clock. ESPECIALLY if your employees have been generous enough to use their personal phones to keep in touch. They need a break from work and a break from you. Every time your name pops up on their screen, it’s a micro PTSD moment. Put that shit in your outbox and send it in the morning.

I was just offered a job with the state government. It’s a pay cut of about $60-80k (and a much lower ceiling) but it means I’d be working 40 hours a week, wouldn’t have to stress about billables or bringing in clients, and would actually get to enjoy my time off again. I might even start to enjoy litigation again and I’d actually be helping the public instead of defending corporations. But am I crazy for giving up that much money?

I’m 27 years old and married. A CFP from Northwestern Mutual is reaching out trying sign me up for a whole life insurance, supplemental disability, and obviously some mutual funds. I have PwC’s 10x salary supplemental life insurance and I hear that whole life is a scam so not sure if I need more. Don’t think I need more disability insurance but my spouse may need it.
