It’s strange to hear that ‘the rest of the world is too nice’. This is simply not true. There have been multiple military conflicts around the world with European/NATO countries involved in the past 30 years.
Russia has nukes, that’s why nobody wants to interfere directly.

Seems more like a politics topic, however, the rest of the world has the strategy that Russia can take what it wants, so long as it pays for it.
Ukraine is a nationalistic country with a well-trained military. The rest of the world has put harsh restrictions on Russian finances.
Nobody against Putin is going to send their own armed members into Ukraine, but.... Guns and equipment? Almost certainly. Putin's Vietnam/Afghanistan is a desired outcome for the US. And if, somehow, Ukraine bloodies Putin's nose on its own more than expected, then that will be a strong signal that Russia's ambitions have been curtailed.

The Ukrainian people are no strangers to fighting communist government, including their own not long ago. Russia and Ukraine have a long and complicated history. Some of the Ukrainian people are pro-russia and have increased this conflict. Ukraine is not a NATO ally, their proximity and history with Russia would make them a very very dangerous ally. We want to support them in staying a sovereign nation, but putting our skin in the game is a world war and not the hill we need to die on. If Russia is to annex all of Ukraine we will be forced to sit and watch. I recommend digging a little deep into their history and what this conflict is about.

You are indeed correct, however the communist party is the 2nd largest in Russia. I wanted to over share history way too much in a short post and trapped myself.
