I interviewed for Data Analyst role at EY, it went well and the job sounds great, but I'm a bit hesitant to leave PwC because I really like the firm and I'm just 8 months in my job as an associate at a subgroup of ITS that has some focus on technology and analytics but it's mostly tax compliance.
I do want to transition to data analytics but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go to another big 4, or maybe just look for a position in industry.
Any advice or similar experience?

I think you guys are just taking the job too seriously.. now that you've realized consulting isn't as important as you thought in undergrad, you can kick back and enjoy the perks while deciding where your real move will be
Happiest Sunday in a while. Just thought about how lucky I am that I can travel pretty much anywhere in the world at a moments notice for free.
Amen. I always wish to die quickly in a plane crash. No family.
Yeah...this job is pretty awful.
Quit on Friday. Currently laying in bed with no end in site. Gonna finish my book. Notput on pants for a couple dats
I hear you both! Trying to get out of this situation fast.
I love what I do... Been a consultant for 3 years now and don't regret a minute of it. Ok well maybe that one project last year.
@ey3 some of us came into it post MBA... we have the worst of all worlds - inexperienced, no network, and too much of a personal life
@mck yes! They're not mutually exclusive. It can be a "decent" job but you can also hate it. Also, the issue with this particular job is you're physically separated from the rest of your life for most of it. So you can't even volunteer for something you love on a Wednesday night - little things like that that keep you sane and helps you establish your identity through a rough job
Jesus, ASC -- and I thought I hated this gig

K1. Some of us need more than that to be happy
I'm just here so I don't get fined (sued for my pre-tax signing bonus)
That sad point where you did other stuff in your life before joining consulting, know this shit ain't the worst gig out there, and wish all the primadonnas would jump ship and see what life can really do to them.
@pwc oh please there are plenty of ppl who have experienced both and now want to go back but between the clawback on sign in bonus and bad optics on resume we can't. When you truly hate it, 6 months might as well be 10 years.
Amen, SA1.
I've never understood why people use that, "it could be worse" maxim as justification for remaining in a miserable situation.
I like consulting however I hate petty ass colleagues and the fact that we promise the client deliverables in timing that intrudes on our personal lives.
