I’m grateful for life buddy!

There's tons to be grateful for! For one, I'm incredibly grateful I can live a relatively comfortable lifestyle and not have to worry about access to food and warmth, not everyone can say the same. Happy Thanksgiving :)

My kids. That’s about it. Wouldn’t be here still if not for them.

And I’m sure they feel the same! They quite literally wouldn’t be here without you 🥰

I am grateful that I had a wonderful marriage. I miss my husband and the fun we had. He just passed away from cancer. We were fortunate that his physician was concerned about a blood test result and pressed for more tests. Instead of having only 8 months, we were able to have 2 more years. DON’T FORGET YOUR ANNUAL CHECKUP- it might save your life.

I'm grateful that I'm healthy, especially with everything that's been going on

Got early promoted so I made manager two years earlier than the standard path!

I’m grateful I’m employed.

I got a kitty a few days ago. Spending thanksgiving alone this year so I’m thankful to have my kitty with me

Just got a new job with a 45% salary increase!

To work for a company who has supported me in a journey of 19 years, during which it allowed me so much variety and flexibility to try so many things.

Really great fun to be healthy and happy in my personal life and professionally to be at a company that feels like home working with some old friends and people that I respect.

Second chances and my loved ones.

TSLA - thanks for enabling me to become FI this year and pivot to marketing consulting for startups/VCs and angel investing in my area of interest. Unbelievable! Oh and family too. Gotta love the family... 😙

Grateful to have a job I love. I know how rare that is and I’ve been on the other side of that. It has made more of a difference than I realized.

$$$$$ and WFH

My job being permanently Work from home. Being with my 6yo and 5mo old more has been amazing.

To be respected at my firm and feel supported by my closest colleagues/mentors.

This sounds more like a personal question rather than a “overheardatwork”

Employed, WFH, healthy family, and 2023 LOL

Hello, I have 4 years of experience between Financial decision support and pricing. However, I feel like my experience is too narrowed to how my current company operates. I am looking to pivot into consulting at one of the big4 ( for ~2-3 years)or any other consulting firm to have a well rounded experience that could be applicable to any industry. Any advices ?or thoughts ?

For those with unlimited PTO policies, what have you done about people who are taking advantage? I know we can decline requests but other than that, how have you addressed that conversation of trending high in time off?

Anyone else frustrated with the lack of follow through from potential employers? I have had two companies undercut my ability to have an equal chance to compete for a role. One company kept telling me a second interview would happen in a few weeks. Nothing for 3 months even with my check ins. To just find out the role was filled. Another company flat out said they couldn’t find my application (in their system where it was attached to job req number) and filled the role.

Worked in Financial Services and Wealth Management for 12 years. CFP working in the banking channel and completing my MBA within a few months with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. Really can’t take the stress and compliance involved with being an Advisor anymore I’m losing hair everyday. Any suggestions where to go?

A serious question: all of my close friend's left india to US, EU for higher studies and are working there. I'm the only one left in my friend circle and everytime we have a video call, I really feel bad about myself as I'm still in India and they're in foreign with good living standards, earning more.

Im now 4 yoe, do you think doing MS worth it now, so that I can work in US/EU? What are other ways to move?
Note: I want to move to US/EU because of good standard of living.

I’ve had enough. I may or may not have ADHD but I damn think so, as well as people I’ve talked to about it. I know I am smart and can accomplish certain things/tasks, but I literally just can’t get my mind to it sometimes. It was bad in college and only got worse since I started working. How do I go about at least getting tested or what’s the the process? Thank you so much in advance.

My therapist told me today that she thinks she might get fired. I broke down crying. I can't take another loss in my life. I was crying so hard I had to cut off the conversation. I don't know where to go from here. It's taken me almost a year to feel comfortable enough to open up to her. I don't know what to do or where to turn. I'm devastated.

Deloitte India (not USI) or Protiviti - SAP Technical Consultant Role. Which one is a better choice.

P.S. - Proriviti is paying 1lpa more than Deloitte India.

Old coworker is finally leaving the most toxic work environment I’ve ever experienced. CEO once told my coworker a monkey could do his job. Within the same meeting from the same person for two different things: "this is the absolutely number 1 priority" 🙄

How are priorities communicated in your company?

“Oh so like your typical Saturday night."

Found out that a peer was fired three weeks into the job because he used login credentials from previous employer to third party subscription to do market research. Previous employer hadn’t turned off his login credentials and don’t track because it’s a massive organization. Kinda harsh IMHO
