As for "unnamed sources," are very common and fairly well governed territory in journalism. Most editorial boards have well defined rules around these sources.

In case anyone was wondering since the press doesn’t do objective trump reporting, the fbi worded that purposefully. They took his passports but then returned them before they sent that message, so they didn’t have possession when they wrote the tweet but had taken possession of them in the raid.
So trump was not wrong in his assessment
Do you think agents have the expertise to figure out on site what is privileged and what is not? What do you think happens if the agents don't take something to the filter team after a warrants is exercised? Do the agents go back and say "hey we came here last week but forgot to take in this thing we saw may be important for the investigation but didn't take it in because we weren't sure".
