I have been where you are. First I would give yourself a little grace. The fact that you are even posting this question proves to me you are caring and considerate and your clients and company should be glad to have you. There is so much going on in the world right now plus it sounds like you have recently changed jobs/industry so you cannot expect to perform at the same level you were previously. It is a learning curve which it sounds like you understand but know you can't jump over it or slide down it quickly. Give yourself time. Oh and the emails.....do I get the emails. I would suggest establishing boundaries with yourself and if necessary with your clients/colleagues. If you are jumping on and answering emails as soon as they come in then people will start to expect that. Sometimes there will be emergencies that need to be jumped on but trust me it is less often than it feels. Maybe try to set specific times in your day to answer/address emails. Maybe some of those responses are simply acknowledging receipt and a note as to when (in the future) you will respond. And when possible, underpromise and overdeliver. I have found I think I'll be able to complete things faster than I actually can so I would promise a quick turn around only to have to go back and ask for more time or pull my hair out trying to get it done on the timeline I set out. (And then find it wasn't needed that quickly anyway!). Lastly, ask when things are needed. Maybe if it is someone who tends to always need things ASAP you set a realistic date and say does this work for you? Trust me, a client will always appreciate you being clear and realistic. As Brene Brown says "clear is kind." I hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck. Again, you are doing better than you think! And remember to give yourself time and rest.

I relate entirely and I have come to learn the anxiety and stress is based on my own expectation to know or be able to orchestrate it all. What has helped me is to listen to all the comments from our creative and strategy partners and use their boundaries and complains as limits to how far I allow clients to push their ideas and hence put me in a awkward situation where I need to make my client and team happy. Don’t be so harsh on yourself, and like the advice above, your personal boundaries need to be set in stone and established but also know the learning curb is not on your court alone, but with everyone else getting to know your style too. If you deliver in a timely, concise and strategic manner people will begin to trust your judgement and avoid overwhelming your process. Lead with confidence, that’s what our role is. Learn all the ins and out of the process, know how to use it for your advantage and as a guard up for clients as well. The work will never stop, but the way you approach it will.

I feel like it's silently affecting my confidence in myself. As seasoned account managers on the frontline with clients how do you get beyond this?

Can you provide a little more info as to what you’re feeling anxious/uneasy about? Workload, underperforming campaigns, feel like the client isn’t happy, etc.?

I moved the other way some time ago. From more or an operational role or a more traditional account role and I totally get this anxiety you’re talking about. Like you’re always a step behind. I still feel like that now sometimes to be honest. (Hopefully I’m not projecting and I’m understanding this right). For me it was a lack of confidence. I came from a role I’d been doing for some time and this was new. Getting that confidence up is key. The way I did it was to try and consume as much info as I could and ask as many questions up front as I could. Hopefully you’re on a team that isn’t bothered by that. Good luck!!
