Hi! I just accepted a Relationship Banker II role in Allen, TX. My offer letter was 50k base and 1k guaranteed commission a month first year. I just graduated w a degree in Business Administration. Basically the info I got on how commission works was pretty vague. Anyway I wanted to see what someone I’m their 1st or 2nd year can realistically expect to on average make in commission a year in this role. Also what do bonuses in the role look like? I’m hoping to just hear some ballpark numbers! JPMorgan Chase JPMorgan Chase

What gives you anxiety? In the beginning I would overthink how emails were worded, get nervous to speaking up on a client call etc. Don’t be afraid to run a note or practice talking points with a mentor or trusted colleague, even for the small stuff as you build confidence. Maybe try opening calls with small talk to get to know your client on a personal level
They’re people - with the same hang ups, anxieties and insecurities as anyone else. And not every question is a test.
Like with anything, it just takes time and practice. Keep at it!
Client here. We don’t care nearly as much as you do. Stop wasting our money overthinking and rewriting the perfect email, rehearsing our weekly calls, etc. We are human and just want to get down to business.
Not all clients are like this. I thought I was doing a good job because inwas getting the work done however a client's expected my emails to be longer. At the end of the day, when you work on anything client facing, every client is different.
Definitely gets easier. Suggest to your managers a 15 minute pre-call internally before any calls. I’ve found this helps us work out any questions that can easily be answered by me/gut checks needed before getting on the phone with the client. It also makes for a super efficient call because we tend to cover more action items that truly needs a client’s signoff or input. Also try writing out the three things you want a client to come away with in your words. When all is lost, just read your notes. Don’t stress- you’re probably doing great!
Following. I’m having the same issue.
A) it gets easier b) this is a great time for you to really look at your career and what you want. As you're growing think about the stuff you like and the stuff you dont like. The skills that come naturally to you and the skills you have to develop...I was good at public speaking but not great in calls so I practiced that. Accept that like everything in life there are learning curves, learn from both failures and successes. You'll learn that every client is different, every manager is different, every agency is different. Get advice and mentors from all sorts of life. There is no right or wrong way, my biggest advice is to find YOUR WAY. Once you know what direction you want, everything becomes stepping stones to that. Wishing you all the best of luck! Take a deep breathe and things will be ok 🤗
