Hi guys,
I am on my process of moving into a new role within a pharmaceutical agency specialising in digital, my new role is as an analyst. I have experience with clients who are within the automotive, transportation, groceries and pet care industries.
I wanted to ask tips regarding best practice, regulations, etc. How has the transition been for you based on your experience?
Definitely more job opportunities in account like you say, or at least I found that to be the case... just know what you’re getting into before you make the switch. Account is a whole different world from strategy and I wish I’d considered that before making the move
Yes. The fact you have some strategy should give you an advantage. AAE (and sometimes even AE) still entry level at many shops but there are a lot more of these jobs than entry level strategy. Very few AEs know strategy well so you could be really great at it, and maybe even really enjoy it. And if not, you can move back into strategy when you have a more brand experience under your belt. Good luck!
It will be an easy transition to AE. Acct needs to have strategic chops to sell in strategy and the work.
Try healthcare. Account roles in healthcare are a perfect combo of account and strategy. Two birds one stone
Apply to both and see what response you get + go to some interviews to see what they ask you etc. You don't have to accept a job just because you applied but if you want to break into a different discipline and also need an income, I'd try all options.
