I’ve been a project manager (delivery focused) for 8 years now and have worked across multiple companies / teams as I am a contractor. Lately I’ve been feeling really bored in my roles and not challenged enough. I’ve previously loved what I do but now I feel indifferent towards my role. I’m worried if I look for more senior PM roles I will feel the same. What other options could I explore and has anyone else had a similar experience?

Totally hear you. I typically get bored in a role after four to five years. Feels like there isn’t much else to learn or do. Been there done that kind of stuff. Have you looked at program manager roles? Overseeing multiple deliveries might be interesting. There is also leading or coaching other more juniors project managers. The leadership one was tough for me because of the change to “delivering through others” mentality.

Thank you - I definitely agree it’s best to try to know if you’ll like it. I’ve been surprised before!

If your goal is to be as high ranking of an in house counsel position as possible, how would you structure your career progression? Practice area is IP: working in patent pros, litigation, and tech transactional to varying degrees if that affects the answer.

I'm looking to find a job like the Forward Deployed Engineer role Palantir Technologies in the UK.

I have become hooked on finding a job that involves solving the kinds of problems they presented during their interviews. Although I got to the final round my performance anxiety got the better of me (I think I wanted the job a bit too much...). I will reapply after working in a similar company.

Is it "deep tech" / "data science" or "smart enterprise" that they're doing? Any advice welcome.

I got a call for a Java position. I told them I do not develop in Java. I do JavaScript with React. He says “oh yes, that is what the client wants”. So I sent my resume. When he sent the confirmation email it stated Angular/Java. I told him that I don’t have much Java skills. He then sent this (pic) as a response. 🤔🤔🤔
When I spoke to the client she had no idea why the recruiter added angular react as it was just a Java developer position, Completely wasted so much time
