I’ve been an AAM for over 3 years, while being at my current agency for almost 2. I’ve been trying to advocate for myself for a promotion for a while but no movement, even with positive reviews and keeping up with my growth plan. At my current agency, I’ve also had 3 managers (all white, on separate projects I’ve been on since I started) each get promoted. I have a lot of anxiety because I can’t tell if I’m actually not performing well, or am just being continuously overlooked. Any thoughts?

I’m an immigration paralegal but I have an MA in human rights. I’ve been working at my org for 2 1/2 years but I don’t see an upwards growth for me unless I go to law school but that is really expensive and it’ll take a few years. I’ve tried to seek promotion to Senior paralegal but I’ve been told I don’t have enough experience. I'm irked whenever I'm in a meeting and my strategist and AE's refer to black Americans as "AA's" I'm bugged every. single. time.

I'm not perceived as meek in Asia but when i moved to NA my reviewer told me I am. He told me to be more confident & cited some coworkers (all white)Now im getting crappy jobs because of my 'meekness'

Was chatting with a CD at my agency and he mentioned that it’s harder for a middle age white guys like him to get a good job right now because agencies are hiring more woman and POC CDs. God that was uncomfortable. People are so not self-aware. Saying that to a minority. Really?? I bet it’s still easier for white men to get more offers than me. 🤦‍♂️
