Make $120k Accenture now doing tech implementations, just got offer 200k TC EY business consulting. I love my job, have a great WLB (working 20 hours per week, no travel, clear path to M in about 1.5 years) - am I an idiot for even contemplating staying? What I would be doing is more PPT/functional vs Onestream/technical which I do now.

Consulting is great for your career they said; you’ll easily find another job they said; your compensation will be great they said 😕
Keep your head up OP it always takes longer than we hope
Nice.. how long have you spent at McK?
Have your resume professionally written/re-written. It makes a HUGE difference. I had interviews/offers with 3 of the Big 4 once mine was done. And yes, everything was TRUE on my resume.
Can you DM me the voucher code you used DD1? I’m about to order the service now.
I applied for over a year and half and got rejected by atleast 50-60 companies before finally getting a couple of offers.
Keep pushing, you will get it
I have been applying for 4 months, got 5 recruiter calls and that’s all.
That's not very long. Took me 8 months to finally get something lined up
Seriously...4 weeks??? Get the silver spoon out your mouth. Folks you're spying to probably won't even see your resume until 2-3 months away. Work your networks for referrals in addition to your regular routine
How about you give OP a referral while you enjoy your 🍩...don't stir that ☕️ with said silver spoon 🤣
it takes time my guy, patience
All about working your network. Have partners introduce you to people at clients they’re responsible for (or to other partners who are responsible for the clients you’re interested in). Reach out to others you know from previous jobs, college networks, clients, etc. I made a half-assed start last week sending four emails out and ended up with in person interviews at three companies this week and promises of others.
Thank you
OP keep pushing. Ive been applying for more than a year now and only now something which is promising is starting to materialize. Hang in there! You’ll make it!
It’s a numbers game just like sales, leads to calls to call backs to meets to proposals to closes. The numbers at each stage can be disheartening however the only way to get to a close is to keep cranking. After you get the next job keep cranking to process, perhaps at a slower pace. Get a couple of interviews each year and get a job offer every couple of years. In other words, stay in practice.
For the guys who’s not getting called or noticed do you mind sharing your background or experience?
^^ took me 12 tries and 6 months to get into Salesforce from a major consulting partner with years of Salesforce experience. Don't let the no's discourage you. Keep after it!
Took me 7 months to get an interview... keep trying!
What are you looking for
Ah ok, yeah those fields are super saturated with people from consulting, and non tech / general business backgrounds trying to get in. And then you got people that graduated w those degrees or have experience in those fields. It’s tough but very doable! You got it.
I feel this
Just landed a position I've had on my radar since early May....and it's taken close to 4 months start to finish.
