I’ve been applying for legal administrative work but have not been successful in landing any interviews. I’m a postgraduate with an MSc in sociology but am transitioning to the legal field and have the courses to showcase ongoing commitment to the legal profession. I also have 9+ years in administrative areas. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong with my CV and would appreciate any advice. As a legal recruiter for legal administration/ security/ assistant roles what do you look for? (London based).

I am currently a year from finishing my PhD and was looking at VC's as a career path because I like to do meta-analysis of different climate change techs. I networked with VCs and one of them was receptive but didn't have the budget currently for a full time hire. They said they'd be interested in working with me to do a research paper over the coming semester, and was wondering if I could leverage this into a full time offer?

Is a white paper with a VC going to be attractive on my CV?

I have recently started working as a BA at a startup company in the e-commerce domain where I'm one of the only two BAs in the organization.. Prior to this job, I have worked as a RPA Developer for 6 months and a Game Tester for 3 years.

What would be an ideal duration to start looking for a switch? There are two reasons behind this -
1. I wish to work at a MNC since it would provide me exposure to bigger projects.
2. Salary is currently below market level.

Appreciate any feedback!

Any advice on how to approach your Google manager about turning your role into 60% part-time (3 days/week)? Figure it would be better to go part time than leave altogether, but can’t really say that to my manager. Any way to explore this without blowing everything up?

Hello Everyone
Need to vent for a minute. I am a middle school librarian. I service 5-8 grade students. My library ran smooth as ice cream this past year. I made my own classes and times students were allowed to check in out books. I serviced a grade a day and on Fridays everyone was allowed to come get books. We have new administration and this year I have class periods and one planning period like a regular teacher. I have 27 students in each class. " Ridiculous." Has your library changed?

Does anyone have experience with the Charlotte legal market?

I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week. I believe they’re interviewing other candidates. Does that make me second or third choice? And does the fact that I’m working with a recruiter hurt my chances of being selected due to the commission? Should I hold out for the offer or is 1+ week a sign that I won’t be selected?

I am in the final steps of the interview process for an in-house position. I mentioned to the recruiter that I had unvested equity I would be leaving on the table. She said the company would take this into account and make me whole. She later asked for proof of the equity in the form of my account statement and balance, which I provided. I have not yet received an offer. Is it typical for companies to ask for this documentation if they don't intend to make the candidate an offer?
