Took a “manager - strategy” role with no reports in tech 6 months ago for better pay intending to progress back to people management but company downturn has made that unlikely. What should I use for my current title on resumes so it doesn’t look like I regressed or am too junior? I’ll be aiming for senior manager and director roles but don’t want the current “manager” title to hold me back.

I am frustrated as a Gay Woman who has given her all for 30+ years grinding to be the best. I have been in closet, out of closet, in-between and am tired of it. I want to be VALUED as a human being. I have gone from Rock Star to problem when people "found out". I have trained and promoted hundreds of people and been passed over for promotions because of not being a man. I have trained men with less experience, worse results only for them to move forward. If Diversity is important...prove it!

Does anyone here let their kids just read? I have let my kids read in Epic and a lot of them will pick the read to me books. I also have a large set of leveled graphic novels. My principal made a snarky comment today about some interventions not getting done. My thought are If I can get kids interested in reading that is half of the battle and letting them chose a book they want to read is sometimes better than doing an intervention they don’t want to do? Moved from consulting to industry early this year but into reagents vs core life sciences. I've reported to 3 different people so far due to exits, mat leaves, secondment etc. so haven't made much progress so far in terms of what I was brought in to do. Our team is collaborative, and the team SME is quite strong headed. I end up making multiple iterations to my work (reviewed by 3 people so far) and feel like my point is never taken and always refuted. Is this what industry is like?

1. Sapiens : 22.5 LPA including variable of 2.5L

Received 2 job offers, one ~10k lower than the other, but still a >30% increase in my current pay. I think the lower in paying job fits me better , is it ok to counter offer asking for more? Do companies usually have wiggling room for this?

For those with company equity or unit incentive programs, is it common to forfeit vested equity upon voluntary departure? Explained as a “retention tool” but essentially held captive by a payout since the contract says equity doesn’t fully vest at 100% until the company is resold. If I quit at any time before a sale date, I lose all of the equity that has already vested. This was offered to a few employees in leadership but feels like not that great of a deal to me. Is this normal?

Compensation Q: I am a financial advisor, licensed, have my CFP, 6 yrs of experience. I’m on a team w $1B AUM and handle all of the financial planning and estate projections for clients with NW up to $300M (only CFP on the team) & am the primary relationship manager for ~50 clients ($100k-$4m AUM/client).
