I’ve been asked to join a consultancy team specialising in coaching - but they’re using a stake holder approach to leverage pressure on the employees of the companies that hire them. I’ve built my practice on putting the relationship first, and using a different coaching model.
What are peoples experiences of organisations using external coaches? I’ve heard mixed things.

I’m not sure if you’re asking this - but Deloitte hires an external set of coaches for certain performers at M and SM. Overall, I think it’s worthwhile

Yeah - it seems the guys at the coal face don’t get the benefit of working with coaches in the same way, unless it’s to manage people out of the business.

I personally hate working holidays related to minorities or during race history months at least at my current firm. The amount of cringey, borderline racist shit I've heard in the office today is disgusting. Didn't know that non-Indigenous people still referred to Indigenous people as Indians, but I sure got a wake-up call today. Yikes.

I work in accounting for an insurance brokerage firm. I put in my 2 weeks notice today and was told by my manager that they may ask me to not work the next 2 weeks (with pay) since I’m going to a competitor. Has anyone ever experienced this? Is this the norm?

At my school there are buttons being passed out that say, “She/her, he/him they/them.” I have no problem with anyone wearing these buttons but I don’t like feeling pressure to wear one myself. No one is telling me to wear one but people talk about how inclusive it is to wear one and most staff do. I really don’t think I’m being transphobic by not wearing one but I just don’t want to wear one. What is your opinion on this?

Hi everyone! Due to an acquisition, I recently had to take a paycut to join the new company. Because we were being acquired, I wasn't allowed to talk to HR or at least my boss wouldn't let me, about salary and negotiate it. I'm wondering if I should tell my new boss about the financial hit I recently had to take. If so, how do I approach it?

I manage a small team and I keep their workload extremely balanced so there is never a day they would work past 5 or on the weekends. But I’ve balanced the work so much that I worry I’m not giving them enough and they may get bored or feel under utilized. Outside of more direct work, any advice to better engage them? Should I find them cert programs to do, volunteer firm work, or let them take on extra things outside of their job description? Or just any advice?
