^traveling now. Miss when I didn’t travel. Go try out a commercial project. Easy way: stock up on cyber related experience or engineering and you’ll be staffed ASAP. Can’t say the same for the barriers to entry in the business MC of commercial. Externally: plenty of smaller commercial firms in McLean that’ll scoop you up pretty quick.
Inside of client conference rooms and the inside of hotel rooms is basically the same wherever you travel to.
Deloitte S&O commercial travels all the time. I’m on the road 40+ weeks / year
At this point in your career you should be building experience, making contacts, and enjoying yourself after work. If you stay in consulting, you will eventually have to travel. At some point in the near future, you will travel so much you will wish you had a job that didn’t force you to travel.
Is there a firm that does a lot of international travel? I would be very interested
@BA1 After chatting with folks and looking around, it’s difficult getting on a commercial project especially without a technical background. Any suggestions on firms to help me get started on research?
OP, I was in your shoes last year - trust me the travel gets old hella fast.
What type of travel? International, a few states away, across country?
@A1 I’m open to international and domestic travel.
Are you on the fed side or commercial ?
@A1 Fed @D1 Wow, mostly domestic travel? What skillsets are needed/predominate in S&O?
We see people on here asking about what the heck DayBlink is on this app all the time, OP. They’re in McLean.
If your want for commercial is for travel, it may not be what it’s marketed as. Anyways, FS is generally always in NYC unless it’s Richmond. These options almost always are Drive or Train. That’s my couple of pennies.
