Hi everyone, I’m joining the UT Data Analytics Bootcamp because I want to make the transition out of tech sales into data analytics. I’ve enjoyed, learned a lot but the stress has taken a toll on my health health. It’s a 7 month program that starts in December. I have $20k in savings, I owe $6,000 to my 401k loan, that’s the only loan I got. I am debt free otherwise except for my house. Should I use my savings to pay off? Since people are talking about unemployment and being fired, I wanted to make sure I have enough, 👩🏾‍💻... What should I do? I initially took the loan to add to my home equity when I sell my house for a new house then covid hit.

In a bit of an ethical dilemma. Got accepted into a 6 month rotation program within the firm. However, also plan on taking paternity leave at that end of the rotation. I understand company policy is to disclosure paternity leave two months prior. I have disclosed the desire for paternity leave to the rotation leadership but not to my leadership as fear they will not let me do the rotation. Any thoughts?

I currently work as an APM at a FAANG company but recently received an offer to join an MBB. I’m very excited about the role but didn’t realize I’d need to take a pay cut when I applied (~100k base + ~20k bonus + ~60k equity vs. 90k base + 10-20k bonus). Considering that I currently work 40-60 hours/week, I’ll be making significantly less per hour at the MBB. I’m very interested in the opportunity but also don’t want to make a poor financial decision early in my career. Thank you for your time!

Received an offer from Amazon but I'm concerned about negotiating hard and ending up with an offer that's on the higher end of the pay band when compared to the rest of the (future) team. My concern is during an economic downturn, it would be easier to let me go if the team needs to be downsized. This would be because I would have the least experience on the team & more expensive to retain from a cost perspective.
