I've been doing contract work for the last 2yrs while actively looking for a perm FT role the last 6mos. I have a good chance of being offered a perm position, which have some red flags. 1) They were vague on my responsibilities, 2) the company is rated a 3.4 on glass door with only two reviews, it's a small company - 50ppl and 3) the role is 4 days in office and I'll have a longer commute. I've been fully remote for 3yrs and feel I'll be unhappy with red flag 3. What would you do?

Curious how do you go about getting contract work? I am wondering if that will be a possibility after early retirement.

You can either be in this permanent job looking for a job or spend a longer time looking for something that doesn't have as many red flags.

Last year I took a leap of faith. I applied for a job I knew very little about. My manager required me to work on site 5 days a week so that I could gain the experience. For reference I worked and lived in NYC. The law firm I worked in was 30-45 mins away from home and I only came in when I needed to work on trials. By leaping I increased my salary by 35%. My commute increased to 2 hours, but this became the best job that I ever had and if needed opens the door of opportunity further down the line. My manager is very flexible with me and my family situation.

I'd say if taking the job makes sense down the line then take it and if you don't like it make it motivation for you to look for something new down the line.

Maybe saying that out loud will help me get out of my comfort zone to find new activities that change my outlook.

Happy Halloween! Hope everyone stays safe today. It has been two months since my last role at a law firm. I had only gotten one interview or no callbacks since then.

I am unsure if my resume is wrong in terms of not tailoring my resume or working for multiple law firms for a few months due to being hired through a recruiting agency.

What should I do to get more callbacks/interviews? Should I reach out to HR/Recruiter directly? Should I get a paralegal cert? Should I do the programs on Forage?

I’m currently working at a law firm in San Diego specializing in coastal property rights as a litigation paralegal and legal assistant. We received a minute order from a preliminary injunction hearing. Our client was ordered to post an injunction bond of $2,500. First our client walked to the courthouse to try to pay the bond up front, but they would not accept his money. He tried to call several bond companies, but all said the amount was too small. So how do you post an injunction bond?
