I’ve been frustrated at work. I’ve been having several days were I come in and have nothing to do nor will anyone give me anything additional that I can help out on.

The nature of our work/billing is super different so take this with a grain of salt but — when this is the case for me I try to think of the times I was slammed and didn’t have room to do things that WOULD enrich the work. Times when I needed breathing room for research, conversations with SMEs, mentoring to my team, or my own professional development & skill-building.

So I focus on those 4 categories when I have nothing on. That’s all real and valid work even if not assignment-based. Or I go for a damn walk 😂

Switch over to be an art director. Those guys never run out of work. Nothing to concept? Cool move to art direction. None of that? Cool go eat your hands dirty and design? No billable work? Cool go work on some agency PR posters, site, etc. Oh hey? Force them to be a photographer, motion graphics expert, or illustrator if they can squeeze in more hours.

Joking aside, maybe you can self start something to help the agency if you have no billable work coming.

Do you have vacation days? Take a day or two off if it’s unbearably slow.

I’m in the same situation with FL. So much got moved back, the resource manager told after the fact, they didn’t need me last week. That I’d start my extension this week.

Was originally told I’d be extended another month and a half, but because of the huge shift in reviews and workload, finance could only approve 2 more weeks. Already reached out to every CD I could find there for more work, so hope to get something else in the pipeline.

In the meantime, I’m trying to lock down other gigs. Still shooting for FT

Depends on how the agency is doing and whether it's time to worry about my job. 😂 Otherwise I learned to take the slow days because when things ratchet up, it'll always be 200% or more.

Any tips on insomnia? I have trouble falling and staying asleep. I was up till 4am last night and 3am the night before and here I am wide awake again (and i’m not on my phone the whole time, i’ll pick it up after a couple hours bc I’m so bored). It doesn’t help that my husband can literally fall asleep in seconds and snores so loud. He is even sleeping in the guest room tonight bc I have an impt meeting in morning but I still can’t fall asleep. Even took a melatonin a couple hours ago. Help!!!

Planning final move from US to Canada this month. Looking to learn from people's experiences on movers and Packers v/s self loading relocube type options. I got initial estimate of 8k USD for a one-way move!

My current CTC is 16L (13L Fixed) in
Accenture and working as CL10 and WFH.
I got an offer from PWC AC Bangalore is 21L fixed and WFH with joining date 15th Dec.
Now I got a promotional offer from Accenture of 16.6L fixed (with 25% hike) to CL9 which will be effective from 1st Dec.
They are asking me to retain.
Could any one please suggest me the better option? My yoe is 7 years.

Why does the 3% Conference get so much money from agencies & clients when they have a history of showcasing toxic, abusive to female employees underneath them, women in advertising? Every year, people are shocked at who gets featured there. The idea is not just to celebrate women, it’s to celebrate aspirational women. Maybe they ran out of speakers and are dipping down too much. But agencies and clients should take a hard look at who is speaking before giving money.
