Ok, I'm biased because I'm voting character this year. I think a good leader empowers people to do better and come together and has an empathetic voice that connects on a human level. I have yet to see that in Trump even when I was desperately searching for it in him in the early days of covid. However, how do people think Biden will destroy this country? I understand if you don't agree with his policy, but he's not a socialist and maybe the worst thing about him is obamacare which trump...
As a result of COVID-19, my husband’s job will be eliminated and we are thinking about moving to Dallas. Any insight on DFW agencies/opportunities/living in DFW are appreciated!
For those of you working in a nursing home facility, what type of COVID protocols are being implemented there?
Are there any pregnant women on the bowl who HAVE gotten the covid vaccine? How far along were you and how were the side effects? (cont)
There were 3 COVID positive cases in the infant room at daycare and it’s closed for 2 weeks. This is the second time that it’s happened this year. Deloitte offers backup care but we have to wait until we get our negative test results first. Baby girl seems fine but it’s better to be safe than sorry. Work is going to be challenging for the next few days since my husband and I both have demanding jobs.
Fishies, How are you guys handling non-COVID-related pitches for long-lead pubs right now? Also, Anybody have insider knowledge from pubs about a shift in editorial topics for 2nd half of the year?
Today is Tuesday. I haven't spoken to another person in real life since late Saturday night. I haven't been more than 1000 ft from my building since Sunday night when I went to the gym. I've chatted with people online, however. It's so not enough. I could've gone to a meetup last night but I was too tired and wanted to work on a data science course I'm taking. Made a run to the supermarket lastnite
I feel so isolated. How did people do this during Covid? How do people continue living like this?
I had predicted a recession before the end of the year way before coronavirus was even a thought. Looks like that’s where we are going according to this:
To all of those in Leadership roles, now that it appears that there is light at the end of the tunnel, has your company begun to put together its plan for post covid? If so can you share any details?
I should have posted in this bowl... but Coronavirus is forcing me to freelance for the first time in 2 years. I have 5-6 years UX experience, is 40 hourly a reasonable rate? Should I negotiate...
Just venting. There is no such thing as a pregnancy glow during Covid. 31 weeks and pretty f-ing over it. I just want my hair dyed, a pedicure and a wax. I think I’ve aged 10 years in the last 7 months.
Is anyone else concerned about the direction the automotive world is heading in, and the overall bigger impact to society when no one can afford to own/have a car? I feel like there’s a perfect storm brewing and with the help of Covid and chip shortages and senseless forced adoption of EVs, in a few years common ppl won’t be able to afford a car and even those in upper income classes will be hard pressed. And when people can’t travel freely on their own, that will have downstream FX on society
Record breaking covid surge but I don’t want to give up ANOTHER vacation. Going to Bryce/Zion next week....is it still safe to fly there/rent a car?
It has been 6 months since my covid rescovery and I still feel lethargic and tired all the time. Any tips on how to fix this?
Great food for thought this morning. Empathetic & insightful. Especially small shops, how are you all doing? Would love to start a convo here or offline https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/leading-unknown-coronavirus-great-reset-jason-bae
Confession: got “fat” during COVID and getting back to me now. Appreciate what it means now. 🤷♂️
Need advice on the transition to FDD one day. Will be promoted to senior in 2 weeks (in risk advisory and have CPA). I already feel a huge disadvantage trying to go Risk > FDD (as opposed to typical Audit > FDD).
Should I stick it out in risk until deals start hiring again? I think there's some value in being a Big 4 CPA compared to an industry senior analyst. But the work in risk doesn't help me develop towards FDD at all... transfer got delayed 3 times until covid, so I'm down to switch firms
For those who have gotten county sponsored Covid vaccines where they “schedule” the 2nd appointment for you, I never got an email or text afterward. Is it automatic or does it take a day or two to go through? Or can I just show up at the same site on that day?
Anyone working from abroad (EU, India etc.) due to being stuck due to COVID? Is your firm supporting it from an immigration / tax perspective? It doesn’t seem smart to try to come back right now even if flights are open given the risk of both catching COVID and burdening the NHS
Stories about real people going through COVID-19. Stories from an EMT, a dad, a daughter, a prisoner, someone living in China. If you’re bored and like stories, check this out. Many emotions.

I joined Accenture last year in September. Yesterday I got communication from my manager that I have promoted my career level to 9 from CL-10. I got a 25%hike and a 12% variable.
Anyone just quit and done nothing for a few months? How easy was it to get back into the job market? Want to learn from anyone who has done this, what I should do to prepare if I do it?
Does anyone have any advice on countering the base outside of the band that Google provides in the offer? Has anyone ever had any luck with a counter offer or do they strictly stick to it?
Help: what does RTB stand for?
I’ve spent 4 years in Big 4, with about half that time in FDD. I feel like Corp Dev is what I ultimately want, but am wondering if a stint in banking could be worth it. If I’m not interested in PE or other buyside alternatives, is the pit stop in IB worth it?
Mainly wonder if IB is a must have box to check, or if you can work your way up the ladder without.
I am in the first year of home ownership, and within the last 2 weeks, I've had so many things break that need replaced. I also had a major unexpected surgery that will probably take me to my $10k out of pocket max. I am stressing out about all the $$ for repairs and such that I can't even focus on work.
Would anyone be willing to chat with me about health care consulting at Bain? Also potentially provide a referral :)))))
What is the exit opp for tax?
How do you deal with men feeling the need to bring themselves into the convo when talking about women’s issues? Examples below:
