I’ve been fully vaccinated since early this year (Pfizer), and tested positive for Covid-19 three days ago. I’m laid up in bed feeling terrible and quarantined so that my wife (who tested negative) and two kids don’t catch it from me. Remember: be safe. Don’t relax yet. The vaccines are wonderful, but we can still get it and pass it on.

Sending you and you family prayers for a speedy recovery. Hopefully the vaccine has made or not be as bad as it could have been had you not been vaccinated. Take good care and get better!!! 🙏🏻🤞👏

Speedy recovery. From what I have read, the vaccines don’t prevent, but rather minimize the symptoms and shorten the time you’re sick. Hopefully that will be the case with you. All the best to you and your family.

Thanks. That’s why I’m waiting…possibly a few years

Sorry for anyone getting sick but we all know it is much worse for everyone, not just you, if you don't get vaccinated too. What are you waiting for? To help the virus spread? Of course with a vaccination you can still get sick but the severity will be much less and the virus will spread less.

Good luck on a speedy recovery! Thanks for sharing! Today at my school we opened up fully. Everyone wearing their masks. Im vaccinated too, I hope to stay safe all year.

Thank you for sharing. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Yes, even if we are vaccinated we can still get COVID19. Good reminder!

Me again (the original poster). It’s been one week since my symptoms first kicked in. I’m feeling much better, though the headaches and exhaustion are still going strong. Thanks for all of the comments and well wishes. I’m glad my post has made people think about whether or not they’re keeping themselves safe.

Top 10 things I’ve learned (in no particular order):
1. Even vaccinated Covid sucks
2. Family support is everything!
3. Losing smell isn’t so bad
4. Losing taste is terrible, but eating healthier, cheaper, and less per serving is easy when there is no flavor (by the way, mine is coming back in flavor profiles—first was bitterness, then salty, etc.)
5. I’m going to owe my wife BIG TIME for all she’s done
6. I’m going to need to exercise after all this time in bed
7. Teenagers don’t become less… hm, teenagery (?) just because you’re sick
8. Feeling I’ll after 2 years of being sick free is no picnic
9. There really isn’t anything that you need to stock up on
10. As you start feeling better, but still must quarantine, you find ways to be productive like organizing and making top 10 lists.

Ok, I'm biased because I'm voting character this year. I think a good leader empowers people to do better and come together and has an empathetic voice that connects on a human level. I have yet to see that in Trump even when I was desperately searching for it in him in the early days of covid. However, how do people think Biden will destroy this country? I understand if you don't agree with his policy, but he's not a socialist and maybe the worst thing about him is obamacare which trump...

Is anyone else concerned about the direction the automotive world is heading in, and the overall bigger impact to society when no one can afford to own/have a car? I feel like there’s a perfect storm brewing and with the help of Covid and chip shortages and senseless forced adoption of EVs, in a few years common ppl won’t be able to afford a car and even those in upper income classes will be hard pressed. And when people can’t travel freely on their own, that will have downstream FX on society

Need advice on the transition to FDD one day. Will be promoted to senior in 2 weeks (in risk advisory and have CPA). I already feel a huge disadvantage trying to go Risk > FDD (as opposed to typical Audit > FDD).

Should I stick it out in risk until deals start hiring again? I think there's some value in being a Big 4 CPA compared to an industry senior analyst. But the work in risk doesn't help me develop towards FDD at all... transfer got delayed 3 times until covid, so I'm down to switch firms
