I take l-lysine supplement when I get these to help the healing. In addition to changing diet and sleep patterns to reduce stress. Common in women with cyclical hormones.

Likely from stress. Possibly from diet. What does your history suggest? I used to get stress ulcers as a student during finals.
Try a food diary? My dad and I get them from certain nuts (walnuts and pecans) and my aunt gets them from strawberries 😞 though FWIW I think sleep deprivation makes them worse too

ASK YOUR DOCTOR. Thanks.
Yes... but i also wanted to poll the brain trust here. Thanks!
If you mean canker sores (or even if not) it could be your toothpaste, or more specifically, the SLS in your toothpaste.
15 years ago I was getting cankers so bad that I couldn’t speak or eat without pain. Somehow I discovered or read that it could be the sodium lauryl sulfate in my toothpaste; it’s in almost all toothpastes.
I started brushing with SLS-free Verve Ultra and the cankers stopped immediately. Now I get maybe two or three a year. (As opposed to 5-6 at a time without a break.)
I hope that’s your problem because the solution is easy.

It’s also on Amazon.
Ok i will try the new toothpaste! My Colgate says sodium fluoride not SLS but not harming trying to switch it up!
I used to get those when I have stress and lack of sleep!
Yea i don’t think i’ve been sleeping well lately. I wake up tired/anxious
Up your water and folic acid intake to help prevent them in the future! Also less caffeine.
Another bump for lysine supplements / tablets - have made a big improvement for me in the past!
Stress yes. I get them all the time. They’re hereditary and can be stress-induced. I feel for ya, yet Orajel if you can find it
Canker Covers, if you can find them. They’re a pain to apply (difficult, not actually painful) and you can’t really talk/eat/drink with it on, but they help me a ton.
I have been having a lot lately. I read it could be stress-related, due to lack of sleep, gastric issues, IBS, or overall imbalance in your gut flora. Try to eat healthy, more veggies, identify a possible intolerance, work out more, eliminate or deal with sources of stress and sleep a bit more
Could be stress related or drinking more coffee/ increased acidity. I’ll get them every so often, and depending on where in mouth, you can kinda bite it. It may bleed a little but the pain will subside.
I’ve found the numbing meds don’t do much for long. I’ve also tried Alum which is used to pickle veggies, so in theory pulls some of the moisture from the ulcer, which also helps. This can be found in the spice aisle at the market.
I used to get them a lot then I started taking l-lysine. Works like a miracle.

Stress.. I'm getting them to. It's also diet related. I've not had any fruit or veggies in over a month. And very little protein.
My mouth is killing me.
A very good friend of mine used to have this issue and was recommended an antiviral by the doc that I think helped
I don’t remember the name but I was surprised by the recommendation, as was she—but they were trying to do everything they could to prevent rather than simply treat
Thanks everyone!

Ger some adcortyl in orabase. Can’t remember if it’s OTC or Rx, but can remember how good it is.
Mine were caused by stress in a previous job. I changed careers and now I very rarely get them. Ask your doctor for Magic Mouth Wash.
Also try acidophilus (dietary supplement) when you know it's coming and before it gets bad.

Probably stress, could also be GI issue flare. That was my first symptom before I was diagnosed with Crohn's.

Stop using whitening toothpaste.
