First, I want to acknowledge your current situation. Being overwhelmed with balancing work and life (divorce and / or marriage) is normal and [unfortunately] everyone goes through it sooner or later.
Now, let’s break it down. Work stress. Can you please take some time off? Most people are on vacay mode this time of year, so take a week off around Christmas and new year. If you’re being asked to come back in person, have an honest conversation with your manager / team leads. Most people are understanding, and they might be flexible with a hybrid work situation?
Personal stress. One of the biggest aspects of our religion is faith / Tawakul. Trust that the All-mighty is looking out for you and that you’re on the path to healing. If you can, get up for Tahajud and have a discussion with him - bear it all out. Trust me, it does wonders. Plus, Allah says in the Quran: “God does not burden any soul with more than it can bear…”. The power of Iman is a great facilitator in our road to achieve mental equilibrium. However, it is not the only option. There are [Muslim] therapists out there who can assist you in dealing with your anxiety / stresses.
I know this is a cliche, but time is a great equalizer, a true healer. It can be tricky, but try to visualize a time in the future when you’ve [successfully] fought your ‘demons’ — and are at peace. Again, what you’re going through is normal.
Lastly, have a good support system around you. If for some reason you don’t have that, or don’t feel comfortable ‘burdening’ those around you, we are here for you. There are decent, caring people in this bowl.
PS. Take a quick weekend trip to the beach. The serenity and calmness of the predawn and dawn ocean waves does wonders. It validates our belief that there is a higher power who controls it ALL and is looking out for us. Don’t lose hope.
Be well, friend. Please feel free to DM.
I don’t m ow what to say but please DM me and am here to help in any manner possible
I’m sorry you’re going through that. I’m here if you want someone to talk to.
If you’re able to take extended time off, I highly encourage it (FMLA, and other options ACN might have). Nothing in this life is worth your mental health and well-being.
Thank you, I’m considering extended time off. Very true, I started this year out brilliantly but then things took a turn for the worst. Goes to show ‘We plan and Allah plans and He is the best of planners’

Asalamualaikum OP! I am so sorry to hear that you’re going through a rough time. Your physical and mental health comes first. As steadfast we may be in our prayers and on our deen, we may continue to deal with such anxiety and stress. Have you ever considered therapy? Talking to someone may help you develop methods to combat these feelings. I’d also try sitting and reflecting on what exactly is worrying you and see if you can make a list on how to address it. For example, if I’m worried or anxious about not being prepared for a meeting then I’ll reassure myself and say okay I’ll be waking up a bit earlier to prep and review the meeting materials and I’ll be okay iA. May Allah ease your difficulties and May Allah grant you with endless happiness and success along with us all ameen!
The Prophet PBUH used to say “Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minal Hammi Wal Hazan.” This meant “Oh Allah I seek your protection from worry and sadness.” The Prophet PBUH was the best of creations SubhanAllah yet He asked of such protection. InshaAllah this dua helps you and us all as well. Surely it gives me ease when I recite it.
