Hmm.. EY is leading in something at least

Would love to hear about your gardening leave experience, especially in the event production sector, i.e. Gartner, Forrester, etc. I’m planning my resignation and I’m unsure if I should plan my next endeavor around it. I plan to continue my career in event production but as an in-house producer for a solution provider, any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I interviewed for Data Analyst role at EY, it went well and the job sounds great, but I'm a bit hesitant to leave PwC because I really like the firm and I'm just 8 months in my job as an associate at a subgroup of ITS that has some focus on technology and analytics but it's mostly tax compliance.
I do want to transition to data analytics but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go to another big 4, or maybe just look for a position in industry.
Any advice or similar experience?

I don’t believe it’s unprofessional but you never know what may happen - did you ask why the role is vacant? If they were terminated you may not get the best answer but if it was just leaving for a new opportunity the company should be sharing that with you. Gut feelings are good to go by though on your feeling about not getting the full picture.
Hmm well it may make sense to reach out and see if your concerns are valid. If it was that quick to bring in two other employees then they were all ready to leave, but it could be a better opportunity and a well liked manager situation too.
