I take it your Asian, if you feel uncomfortable, then speak to your manager for sure about how you feel , there’s no way I imagine that they force you to come in . In regards to your second point, not sure if you read the news but I’ve read numerous stories about it so confused where you gathered that it’s unreported

The government is trying to cover it up because They don’t want to scare away tourists or further devalue the real estate
Agree with EY. Talk with your manager.
Safety is important. And casual racism (non-violent too) seems to be getting worse. A friend of mine got asked to leave a party because he’s a “chink” like a week ago.
I was shocked bc I’ve never seen that happen in real life with white collar highly educated people before.
This is all so very sad. Definitely speak to HR first and then whatever they come back with you can disclose with your manager if comfortable. (You don’t need to tell your manager that you feel uncomfortable due to violent acts of racism by the way...that’s your personal choice and at HR’s discretion on how to handle or advise you on what to say to your manager once they tell you it’s ok to work from home, etc). I agree that it’s been on the news but not as outrageously vocalized by the media as much as BLM (nothing against BLM just an observation). We need to continue to talk about it in forums like this and in our communities to raise awareness and spread love not hate ❤️ stay safe!
Just curious, why do Pacific Islanders get lumped into this? Haven’t heard of any attacks on them

I suggest wearing a disguise like big sunglasses and a hood plus a mask covering your face-basically what all of us women have had to do for years while on public transit to avoid sexual-harassment!
