ugh i’m sorry to hear this i could relate to some extent. as far as getting out it’s hard you gotta take a plunge and maybe go for a walk woth headphones so you’re out around people but don’t need to acknowledge anyone. then you can see how that goes. i also know the personal embarrassment of being overweight on the beach, but now i’m on the other side and i can tell you when i see an overweight person on the beach i don’t laugh or judge so i think it’s more of a self conscious thing. if we’re trying to shed pounds we have to eat in a caloric deficit
Op, the same. I’ve always struggled with my weight yo-yoing up and down. I had a great routine pre quarantine but once the gyms closed, I stopped working out completely and started eating a lot. Now that stuff is starting to open up, I’m actively ditching plans with coworkers and some friends because I am self conscious. I know I’ve put on weight and I don’t want people to see me like this. Its been a week since I’ve started dieting and running outside. Fingers crossed I can lose some weight and start hanging with people
Hey look don’t ever let your weight or appearance stop you from living the life you want. I know that’s easier said than done but you sometimes have to force yourself even if it seems reckless at first. I am in the same boat as you tired from being home for months from the current situation. Got too accustomed to just watching Netflix in my free time. But that’s no way of living and I do want to be outdoors so I booked a hotel for the coming holiday by a beach. I am not a swimmer nor I like the sun but the reservation is something I put in place to hold me accountable so I don’t bail out in the last moment. Do something similar.
If you feel like you cannot find the motivation by yourself, please invest in others helping you. Discuss it with your general practitioner, get a trainer or a nutritionist who can help you build a schedule.
And please dont avoid the seaside, it is healthy on so many fronts (fresh air, movement, relaxing sea sounds, sun vitamins). Find places with more privacy if it helps. Make it work for you. Consider going on a yoga retreat for beginners, in a lush and secluded beach town.
