I've been HR Manager for a small company (100 employees) in NYC Metro North Area for about 18 years. For all those 18 years I was HR party of one with no direct report. I am at 84k and 15% bonus but since 2020 not a single pay increase.
After almost 3 years our company finally gave everyone a standard pay raise about 3%, but I was told that I've reached my maximum and no longer qualify for a raise. I feel like I'm getting pushed out.
Suggestions are appreciated.

There are plenty of companies who would pay you 100k+

Run awayyyyy ! You are so undervalued! I’m a people ops manager and I started at 120K now at 150K within 1 year. We have about 120 employees

I think it’s all about presentation and showing that you understand “new school” HR/people ops, that you can adapt to change, and have for the last few years. I do think sometimes companies almost frown upon no change for too long though, maybe they’re wondering if you’d be able to adapt to something new after being in one company for so long. Use LinkedIn religiously, message CEOs, and filter your job searches by remote only.

Who on your team is responsible for managing compensation? You should have a vital business partner role in managing annual compensation as the sole HR practitioner. If they don’t include you in that practice, I would look for employment elsewhere. With 18 years with the company, they should be consulting and valuing your expertise in their business. Go where you are valued.

like

Keep looking! You have the luxury of having a job while you look for that perfect remote position. It's out there. And it pays more.

PS your current position saying you have reached max salary is either a group that doesn't respect HR, or they think your skills are stagnant.

No one outside the industry wants to work in media because of the lower compensation. Sometimes it's up to finding the right candidate to do the job. I think it's easier to find the candidate in the industry than trying to move someone from outside the industry to work in media.

I have been with my current company for about 3 years now and currently at 75k plus employer paid benefits and decent pension plan. Due for review next month and expecting to be offered a 5k raise. However with 6 years of relevant experience I would like to be close to 85k. We hireda new team member for the same role as me as the business is growing. They came in at 75k which bothered me a little because I pretty much began this department and put in a lot of processes. More in comments.

I’m currently at a medium sized tech startup. I was interviewing for a role that would be a bump in pay and title at a multinational public F50 company. At first, the hiring manager and head of legal were very complementary about my experience. Almost too much so. After a week of interviews with the team (softball-esq), I was informed that if I wanted to join, they would bring me on at a lower title. I’m not sure about comp yet. But if comp is still an increase + experience at a public..

My company went toxic in the last couple months. Chose me and started interviewing. Had a very successful interview with Amazon but recruiter is working hard trying to place me and said there’s no knowing how long to find a team. Meanwhile I just received a Director offer for a company with a 29% pay bump July 1. If Amazon or any other FAANG/large co gets back to me, is there an acceptable way to not burn bridges with new job and accept or delay start date with FAANG? Or fuck it just hop?

Without looking, I was recently offered a role at another company for about 30% more salary and 10x the amount of stock options, but I have only been at my current employer for less than a year and feel really guilty about leaving so soon into my tenure. My current employer might match salary, but there's no chance the options get matched.

I'm wondering if I should take the new position, even after less than a year at my company? I can't shake my guilt even though it seems like a no-brainer.
