Just picked up my first 1983 case and I’m looking for the Bible on litigating 1983 claims. I’m digging my way through case law now to get a general overview of the landscape, but I’m going to want to learn from the best and brightest on this. If it matters, claim will be in the 8th circuit and it relates to a client who caught a rubber bullet with their face. I know the unlawful assembly case law is against us, and it doesn’t appear an actual seizure occurred, so this is going to be tricky.
Do you find that black professionals can’t get along if they’re working on the same consulting project / team?
I just got back from mat leave at Deloitte and am on a part time project ending this month...how long will I be on the bench before I get laid off? 3 months? 6 months? I’m worried and stressed.
I’m a recent college hire and my Manager on my project has delegated a lot of work to me that I feel like an experienced senior associate or even an M should be doing. She walks me through everything I need to do but has said she wants me to be the person our project team go to even if that means I go back to her for support. Is this her way of teaching me or am I being take advantaged?
Pre-Q I loved hitting the client site and walking the halls. 8 wks later, I’m quite happy wfh, and would love it if companies offered it indefinitely (or, at least much more frequently) Anyone else?
Need help fb fam: current project is M-F, 4hr flight away, have to request weekends/holidays off. I fly out Sundays and don't get back until Friday night. Basically a glorified note taker, I hate it.

Ever had an ethical problem with what a client does? With my current client, if you can kill people with it, they make it. I don’t mind them supplying our national armed forces but those exports...

I started trading options in March, and I have some long term OTM calls on XLE — $45 1/21. I’ve had them since early April. What would be your exit strategy for this position? Not necessarily looking to sell soon but I’m curious to hear how others would play it
This is a very subjective question, but I’m interested in getting a variety of opinions. I graduated in 2019 and got what I initially thought was a dream job in local government dealing with civil matters. I’ve reached a point where I’m getting very bored with the work, which is 75% contract review. My talents and interests are in writing and research, which I had been told I’d be doing tons of during my interview. Do I jump ship? When? And what sort of job is ideal for a new lawyer?
