I've been in Consulting a little over 3 years, and am getting tired of staff aug projects that do little to grow my tech skills, & are not embedded enough in the business side to truly hone my pre-sales, sales and business side skills.

I'd like to be doing more business side work going forward and am not getting the opportunities at my company, so I'm applying for positions anyway in hopes I can sell myself if I get a call back.

Any advice on ways to train myself up in the mean time?

I am joining wipro on oct 20. Can I expect promotion on coming April?

I’m looking at applying to MBA programs and know most have veteran/military programs and clubs that seem to offer help with the admissions process. These are obviously very competitive schools and I’d like to use any resource possible, but I can’t tell if these are only intended for people transitioning from active duty. I’ve only been in the Reserve (with a deployment) and have an established civilian career. Does anyone know if these groups would be receptive to me?

I’m really discouraged. My after tax / after 401k contributions etc. take home pay is $6,500 monthly. I have $60,000 in savings / stocks for a down payment but even looking at a $550,000 home, my monthly payment would be about $3,400 from the calculators I’ve been using. Is that too high?

So discouraged that houses where I live are about 50% higher than what they were 2 years ago, and now interest rates are around 5.25% for my credit score. This is like a 1750 sq foot home
