I’ve been interviewing for weeks now for Senior product manager roles and even made it to the last round several times, but I can’t seem to land a role. Some of the feedback includes: not enough B2C experience, experience seems more like project mgmt or product marketing, too much leadership tasks and not enough collaboration. I’ve been a project manager, a system admin, a product manager and currently a senior product manager for a b2b saas product. Any tips on how to overcome challenges?

Found out that I’m getting paid $5k a year less than other new grad hires in the same department and level as me (was told that new grad hires would get paid the same regardless of role). New grads were also told that we cannot negotiate pay because women tend to negotiate less than men and they wanted to keep things fair. Then I learned that a male peer negotiated their starting bonus when I was told that I wasn’t allowed to. Feeling undervalued and don’t know what to do in this situation.

Hi I work in patient finance and I am desperately bored with my job. I have a bachelors which isn’t a requirement for my role. I have been applying non stop to jobs that do require a bachelors and I am qualified for. Either I don’t get called for an interview or when I do I’m not selected. I have followed up with some of the interviewers and they all told me I interview well. I am so tired of disappointment that I feel like giving up and just settling. I don’t know what to do.

I’ve had three interviews for an internal position over a period of about 6 weeks The last was over a week ago. And I can’t get the HR rep to even return an email or a TEAMS chat as to a ballpark when a decision may be made. VERY frustrating. Even just a “we will be making a decision soon”. Hi I had someone recently tell me I should have my education and certifications above my experience on my resume. I found this weird as I thought since I had 5 years of work experience that would go first. They said since I graduated college in 2020 and was actively in a certificate program those should go above my current experience. Thoughts?

As a PM, I feel as though I should own and manage the product. But Senior Leadership often comes to me with “we’ve promised this to a client so you have to build it”. Does anyone else find folks at Amazon are incredibly hierarchical ? The levels - L6, L7, L8 , - are brought up frequently in conversations in meetings. My meetings are with L6s and L7s. Example, "He is a L8!! We need to do this for him...."..'I need to do this for my L7". I am new and when introducing myself to L7s via email , they just straight up reject it without so much as a welcome or a "you should connect with someone else to talk about this topic" Talk about feeling welcomed

Hey, I’m currently a PM, only about 2-2.5 years in but the role has never felt like great fit. For example I find myself overly delivery focused.

Has anyone considered pivoting to/or has pivoted from Program Manager? And what are your thoughts?

Applied for a role internally and feedback from 1st round interview was positive. However, I was told there’s strong external competition who have more experience in the field and likely to get the job. Hiring manager told me to consider a different open role in the team where I’d be a much better fit. The other role isn’t exactly what I was hoping for but could be a foot in the door.
