I’ve been looking to make a career change for years, but my current company has a stock plan that has been hard to leave. However, my distributions next year and my patience has grown weary. Production has been changing so much and the industry doesn’t do it for me anymore. I’ve been tapped for sales many times in the past based on my personality. Would it be difficult to transition tech sales role? I’m mid-30s and have experience at large agencies & in-house for a brand for 13+ yrs.

I’m mid-level in my HR career at my current company and an upcoming Master’s graduate. Studying for my SHRM-CP too. How did you make the transition to that next level? What skills do you need, or is it really just based on YOE (I am the youngest compared to my teammates, many who have 10+ YOE)? I feel like career pathing is not very clear at my company. Each time I ask for guidance on this from my manager, I get told they’ll look into it.... would love some external mentorship and thoughts 🙏🏼

I feel like I am not getting clear guidance or leadership from my design manager or my PM. I have been creating project initiatives, frameworks and discussion guides but there is no one really assisting me in creating them or stepping up to make decisions on the best path forward. I am trying my best but it seems like I am the only one creating execution docs and coordinating efforts across all stakeholders. Isn’t this my PM and Design managers role? Is this a major red flag?

How would I even begin to break into the field with a degree in something not particularly related.

So I just had an interview at a small non-consulting firm (real estate lending) where the guy actually went on a political rant. First round interview, too.

Small firms are not what they're cracked up to be as far as work environment. They had a giant St. Bernard as a sort of "office mascot", you'd think they'd be chill and laid back. But it can also lead to breaches of professionalism that can make an office toxic if you're not cut from the same cloth as the owners...

I have some pretty significant experience in compensation and I'd like to pivot into a role that's focused there. What advise do you have moving forward with a career. I left my employer after18 yrs in June. my boss was laid off before covid, they didnt post his job for 2 years. I ran the site for that time, received many accolades. When it posted i got no interview. In June a company made an offer for same money for board director I took it. Turns out they were pitching lies. They had no integrity and were incompetent. I left this month. I haven’t been out of a job 25 years. How do I pick myself back up?

Has anyone here shifted from PR (public relations) to another career path?
