I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

Not familiar with Vegas salaries but you seem underpaid. Midwest ACD would start around 110k and NYC ACDs would be around 140k. These are just off the cuff average numbers, before all the experts start jumping in on how wrong these are.
Also worth asking them if they plan to hire an ECD or if you’re going to be the new leader of the department
Good point. Having an understanding of what your responsibilities are and who you’d be reporting to (i.e., ECD, CEO, etc.) will help solidify your expected salary. It’ll also show management that you’re forward thinking and potentially open the conversation for you to become ECD, if you so desire.

In Las Vegas at a small agency (just under 50 people). I will continue to report to the two owners of the agency and they have no plans to bring in anyone else, unless I turn down the CD position.
My responsibilities range from managing the creative team of 12, pulling together pitches/RFPs, to writing scope for clients. It's ... A lot.
Also, like mentioned above, what are you currently making?
Currently making 75k salary.

Same. You should already be in the 110-130 range at ACD. Seems like this place is exploiting you at this point. Don't let them continue to have you doing CD work for mid level pay
