What country were you born in? This matters to help answer your question.

South Korea

1. The 2 Year policy is subject to your Firm’s policy. Deloitte has recently changed it to 1 yr ( guessing its one of the changes for retention). 2. For EB2 & EB3 category of employment based GC, it takes an average of time 15 months to 18 months until you get i140. Actual Timeline for getting the GC on hand depends on your country of Origin. 3. There is no lottery for H1B extension and it can only be extended to 30 months at once.

They put an ad out there for 2.5-3 months at least. I actually followed up with my attorney why my job ad had been outstanding for more than 60 days and they said that's the EY typical process and didn't provide any further explanation. They were very slow at vetting applicants, interviewing candidates, making hiring decisions, and creating a recruitment report too

You have 4 more years on h1b so you may relax. h1b extension with EY should be easy and no lottery is involved. What level are you in? Keep in mind that you must be at least a senior and a manager potential to begin a GC process with a partner's approval. My GC process started at the same time when my h1b was extended. I casually spoke with my partner who approved my case and they saw me as a manager potential after 2 years of busy season experience as a senior. So if you're a newly promoted senior, some partners tend to wait until you prove yourself as a senior during a busy season. This differs from one partner to another. Also due to a higher probability of failure, EY tends to file a manager PERM. That said, you must officially be a manager before they file an I-485. you won't need to be a manager for PERM and I-140 fyi

I think the most recent i140. Check in with your attorney to be sure

Picking a country to live and work in: my spouse is a Mexican citizen (with US green card) who works in Mexico City, and I'm a US citizen. We want to live together, but my spouse has great career opportunities in tech in MC, and finding a job in the US has been hard. I could likely get a job in MC, but I don't speak Spanish and my income would be much lower. How should we handle the decision of who moves where? We are both looking for tech jobs in the bay area, but we haven't had much success.

Do you have to be physically present in the US when your H1b petition is filed for extention and an amendment (attorney is seeking an extension at the same time as filing for an amendment)? The existing petition and visa are valid for 2 more years

I was laid off by my company in Nov 2021 after getting my green card approved in Sept 2021. I just got a new job and planning to go back to my home country for a long overdue visit. Will CBP give me a hard time for re-entry when i get back to the States?

Looking for some perspective and advice. I’ve moved to an in-house analytics organization for a large fortune 10 company and have prior experience with a big 4 and a startup as head of analytics & data science. Received an offer at an advertising agency for a senior role (slightly more money) and torn on taking the offer or not. This would be my first stint with an ad agency. Potential reasons against: 1) risk? I’m in the safe side already 2) longer hours? 3) less upside growth potential?

Anyone familiar with comp range for ‘associate director’ title at Guidehouse? LinkedIn shows up to $165k base which seems pretty low for a manager-level role. If it helps, looking into energy, sustainability and infrastructure (ES&I) practice (commercial sector clients). Thanks
