Describe your project in one pic.
So the general consensus is if you’re asked to do 8+ hours of work on a file, have it reflected on your schedule... I have a bunch of clean up for my last file because of review notes left on my last day/client gave more support on last day. But I’m already fully booked on another file all of next week - what should I do?
My client got F'ed over by one of their employees failing to disclose some things to the SEC I caught it brought it to the clients attention now I'm stuck doing diligence on over 100 employees. I keep catching things. I feel like I'm creating more issues for the clients but at the same time I'm protecting the firm as a whole which they're thankful for. Do I have anything to worry about by finding all these problems?
Do any of you work on a project with mostly older, more experienced men and have a hard time being heard? If so, how have you crossed this barrier?
Hi , if someone is on bench for long time and not able to clear client interview what will be the consequences.
Is it normal to bill 40 hours instead of 45? It's a long term project and manager wants the entire team to bill at 40 even though we work 50
what's the firm policy for expensing health related purchases? I'm soon going to buy a bench, couple of free weights and a Fitbit. can this be expensed to the firm? if yes, how? Thanks for the help!
Has anyone else caught their client playing video games on their phone during meetings.. multiple times 😂😂
Ideas of what to wear for a team dinner on a business trip? The client will be there as well. I already know I need to buy a new outfit for dinner. Thanks quarantine 15. 🤷♀️
Would you rather stay in a niche that you’ve been doing well in, but you happen to find not too interesting, or try new areas and risk not doing as well? Ive been in pharma analytics for the last 4 years, receive good client feedback, good raises / promotion and have learned a lot. But I’m not sure if I want to continue in pharma long term.
People who have client/ team calls should consider getting a room!! Woman behind me on phone since 45 mins & yapping non stop! 😡😡😡 No courtesy or respect for others!! Wonder if I can report her!!
If we’ve been with the same project for an entire year and receive a W2 for the state in which our client is, I’m assuming we have to pay state taxes on that W2 as well?
On the bench for the third week, reached out to demand, my coach, RP and my network etc. Decided to catch up on some workout and laundry today. Shall I feel guilty?
Let's talk client side. AKA the Dark Side. What titles and roles does a creative slot into naturally? You know without having to go back to business school and all.
What to do when your counselor is also your stream lead on the project, and he wouldn’t let you roll off because you’re top performer. I’m over one year in on this multi year implementation project
When HR thinks they can assign their bitch work to the bench: “Plan a retirement party. Research venues and manage invites.” On what Earth is this a good use of any consultants time, pay, or growth?🙄
Would you consider working as a contractor while on the bench with your current firm? 🤔 Unethical? Too risky?
Anyone else in the mood for a consulting freestyle battle or are you heads down in your client’s dumpster fire wondering if you really matter? What? You didn’t think a consultant could rhyme? Do you need to go back & read this one more time? Don’t be a chump or you might get a data dump into your mind. You can play with these defects cuz I’m the next in line. Watch my teams shine as we deliver these rhymes one test script at a time. 🎙👎✌️😎
Can someone tell me if there is a possibility to make a switch from Tax to Risk Advisory if I complete CFE ( certified fraud examiner) course? I find this field pretty interesting. Do you have any suggestions for any courses which could get me into such profile being from tax background?
Hey MBB Fishes! I have an offer to shift from a M (5 YoE, no MBA) position to a Consultant position at BCG - does anyone have any insight into expected change in responsibilities and salary range I should be pushing for?
What is the expectation at your firms about coming into work after making your billable hours requirement? Asking especially for those who do not get a bonus per extra hour billed over the minimum.
Is this reasonable or am I missing something? I started maxing my 401k from year 1 and I hope to have $5 million or more by the time I retire around 60. Wouldn’t it make sense to put all of my yearly $19,500 401k contribution to ROTH 401k instead of traditional 401k? My reasoning is that I would pay 35% tax now and my remaining 65% would grow tax-free in ROTH 401k…. versus traditional 401k where I deposit 100% but every distribution will be taxed 35% assuming I make a lot in retirement.
Does anyone have any experience with BCG Platinion Risk Consultant case study interviews? This is my first time doing a case study interview and I'm currently trying to prepare, but most case studies I have found online are more in management consulting.
Does anyone here hold a non-CFA designation (CFP, CAIA, FRM etc.) and what kind of role/position do you have?
Is it possible that massive layoffs, already expected, could just mean big numbers but not big pain like 2008 - 2009? Hear me out, the pain of 2008 was that there were large layoffs for months (cont)
Sometimes it hurts to think about how well I know some airports. What terminals/airports were you frequenting before covid?
I’ve been told that I’m going to be teaching “in person” on Dec 2. We have been Remote since March 13th. Just the “high needs SPED and ELL”will be in class. I have 2 kids out of my 6-sub-separate developmentally delayed students and the ELL teacher will have 3 out of her 14. We will both be in separate classrooms and the adults will change-not the kids- we share one student. I was told if we are at least 8 ft apart the students can take off their masks... anyone else hear this?
Help evaluating an offer: 1 YOE out of undergrad in T2 consulting, new offer is ~125-140 base, 15-25% bonus, 1 time signing bonus. Should I be negotiating for more or is this fair? HCOL city.
Shout out to the exec on our call who is WFH... has web cam live on WebEx with no makeup and a hoodie on 💄 #spiritanimal

Help! I have a T2 offer & need to hurry for the final decision. I also have a pending offer from AWS and I’m expecting an offer @ Netflix. Both Netflix and AWS are aware that I have the offer. AWS is rushing the final process (they need to put me in touch with a team manager in a different division before the offer). Netflix is silent for a week but i was told on last call that I passed the onsite interview and they wanted me on a higher/mgr level with a different team too. What would you do?
Hi - how is the Deloitte US Delivery Center as a whole for a developer role? Am interested in knowing career growth opportunity and general perception and perks etc. Any inputs will be appreciated. 2.5 YoE, MS, currently in Big 4 tech consulting USDC. Analytics & Cognitive. Deloitte Consulting
So my law firm didn't file my H1b application properly so the registration never went through. What other options do I have, apart from going to a school again.
Any tips/best practices for applying to jobs on AngelList? I'm not sure if it is as closely monitored as career pages
Husband found out that his fed job that he was hired into with the promise that he’d receive paternity leave will not let him use his paternity leave because he hasn’t worked for government for a year yet. But baby arrived a few months before he started his fed job. Is he still eligible for paternity leave when he’s been at the job for a year?
For any AA platinum members - is it worth it? Flying from DCA to ORD. Thinking about the status challenge but $500 for plat challenge + plat now is steep. Sick of united silver.
I always wondered about this, but why is switching firms the best way to get a substantial increase in comp? If firms are able to offer that much more to external hires, why is that not applied to current employees?
I recently got diagnosed with ADHD. I'm 31 and found this only because b school and post mba consulting job was/is much more challenging than anything I did before. What I'm confused about is that even as a teenager I could read entire books overnight. But the last two years of high school I started selectively zoning out and the problem has become worse since. I just realised it now. My doctor has suggested treating depression (I was also unaware of this) with Wellbutrin first (contd)
