Feel the same way. My firm says they're being flexible but is also saying they want us in the office minimum of three days a week in September. I will go in sometimes when I'm not too busy (probably for practice group meetings and other chances for a free lunch, one of the few things I miss about the office!) But my door to door commute each way is 40 minutes and it's truly not worth the time, especially when you factor in daycare pickup and dropoff on top of that... What are they going to do if I go in once a week, fire me? We've had so many associates leave in the past few months that I'd really like to see them try.
Exactly, I wish they would try honestly.
I feel the same way. My firm finally told us that their goal was 3 days/week starting mid-September, though it’ll be practice group dependent. Maybe I’ll show my face for three days but it’s not going to be the 8am-6+pm it was pre-pandemic.
I'm burned out with WFH. I'm glad to be back to the office and do so voluntarily. Nice to get back into a routine and be able to separate work and home.
Just took a fully remote job. I ended up not taking a very significant pay cut, but honestly I was willing to. For me, it’s so worthwhile - I save time, I’m more productive, I can more easily exercise.
For reference, though, my firm is allegedly going to be “very inflexible” with its policy…
A3 - I’ll send you a PM.
