I go to work everyday to make money. Not to play finger sticks with my co-workers for less money. If the other job pays a lot more and the work interests you, make the leap.
This.
IMO, finding a firm where you are happy is more important than money and commute (to some extent), and I've found that a 45-minute commute isn't the worst thing in the world b/c it is an opportunity to leave the office behind before you get home. If this other firm is throwing money at you (and likely others), it's probably a place that others (and you) don't want to work. I'd stick with what you have.
I should add that I have friends that work at the offering firm who have been very happy there and the partner that I would be primarily working for is very well respected.
Sounds like a no Brainer.
That’s a really tough choice. For me personally the decision would come down to whether the extra money is worth the possibility that the new firm is not as good of a culture fit. I know job is not life, but I can’t work this hard for terrible people. The other risk is that if you leave after three months, you probably need to put a couple years into the new firm before trying to exit again.
