Hi IBM sharks 🦈
So I got interviewed for a project by the IBM team. The interviewer told me that its a go ahead from their end, now the client will assess my profile and if they too are fine with it, I will be onboarded?
Is it true that we have client interview as well? If yes then after how many days of interview by IBM team, client interview takes place?
Or its just that if the IBM team is fine with it, we are selected for the project?
Any inputs on this will really help :)
Hi everyone, I am 4.9 years experienced , I joined Fractal 3 months ago as a data engineer, but still haven't got any project. Process is so slow that I have received only 4 to 5 project calls. I switched in hopes that will learn the new tech and tools. But now i am starting to forget even the one i knew. Should i go for change or wait a little more time as fractal is reputed in AI/ML? I have interview lined up with Impetus as for now. Would it be better choice?

You probably have to suck it up on your current project for a while but after maybe 4 months, have a frank conversation with leadership about where you are and your need to pursue an area of interest. In the meantime make yourself available to the MDs who do the work you like to help out on a proposal/research/etc, with the explicit understanding that you want to roll off to join one of them in several months. Then leverage them hard to roll off, and be willing to push back if you are told you need to stay on current or join whats available.
What is the staffing model at your firm like? If it’s self-staff like Deloitte or Accenture, you should be reaching out to the MDs and Senior Managers in the areas of interest and get visibility. Use the fact that you have positive reviews to incentivize them to staff you. If you have someone who staffs you, mention that these are areas that you want to grow in and haven’t had exposure to
Some risk in my approach but if you’ve been a top performer, leverage the more senior allies you have to make the case with you that you should be allowed to pursue something you really want to do.
I’ve received nothing but positive feedback on my reviews and was in the topmost bonus group last promotion cycle. I know my firm has the opportunities I would like to work in, but it seems they’ll always be out or reach. I’m losing interest fast. Should I quit or stick with it?
What are you doing to get involved in those opportunities you want? Have you talked to your current leadership?
Self staffed. I do +1’s in my area of interests and have good relationships with MD’s in the practice. I even was allowed to roll off my previous project to go after those interest but another project snapped me up before things lined up and now I’m stuck here for likely 18 months.
