I've been wondering this for a while, but when asked about years of experience should you only count post-grad years?

I taught myself the Adobe programs in high school and started freelancing immediately, and also had a bunch of design internships in college that I think were really valuable. I don't want to discredit those experiences, but I also don't want to mislead anyone either. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to go about answering this?

However, I only have a masters in law, not a JD, so I have no summer associate experience, and every position wants experience first. Letter mentions progression from grade 3 to grade 4, but at the beginning of the month SM said he is suggesting my name for promotion. Now that it's mentioned as progression in the letter, promotion is out of scope? Or can it change from progression to promotion before feb 4 announcement?
