For context, consider I have been doing the role for over a year so there’s no reason that I should have to miss qualifying for the bonus due to a technical cut off for an arbitrary start date. I’m not the one who continue to push back my hire date without a raise so why should I be disqualified for the annual bonus benifits that everyone else gets? Even the new hires from last month qualify but I don’t?
That is so wrong of them to do you like that. I would def dispute it if I were you.
Additionally, I asked that instead of an annual bonus paid out in the spring, could it be a signing bonus? I was told that it would have to come out of a separate pot of money, and that would be submitted for approval but I have yet to hear back. Should I email them at this point? What do I say in the email to negotiate?
You should get a prorated bonus. I did when I transitioned from a contractor to a contingent. If they can't do that then a sign on bonus to make up for it would be the right thing to do imo.
